though they are likely the best psu maker out there, i would still never buy a pcp&p psu for the fact that they are loud as hell.

That PSU is more marketing then anything else. There are people who spent $1000+ for an additional 2mb of L2 cache (p4ee), so I am sure people will buy that sucker too. I agree I am sure the 510 PSU is more than adequate for any rig.
