I've gotta say, toyota, you are an absolute detriment to the community here. :thumbsdown:Originally posted by: toyota
youre just being a fucking ass because you cant possibly be that ignorant.
why dont you read through everything we said to each other before making that assumption. I have been here 3 years and afaik this is the only time I have cussed at somebody like that. perhaps I should just be passive aggressive like azn. lol
he doesn't need to read because he knows it's video card limited.
I have easily proved that below 1280 that the game performance is still greatly affected by the cpu. just looked through the high setting benchmarks that I ran when I had the 8800gt in my system. my crt doesnt have a good refresh rate above 1280 so to me the 8800gt just wasnt worth it because Crysis was the only game that needed a huge improvement. just for the record my 3dmark06 score was 9500.
all were run in DX10 with high settings with 169.09 drivers with 8800gt at 650/1800
1024x768.... 29.32 FPS
1280x1024.. 28.68 FPS
1600x1200.. 25.06 FPS
as you can CLEARLY see even with high settings my 2.6 X2 is the bottleneck below 1280 as the fps are within a 1/2 frame of each other. I know you will still argue but that will only show what kind of person you really are. its a FACT that below 1280 the cpu does make a lot of difference in Crysis whether you want to believe it or not. also like I have already mentioned the gamespot link you tried to use actually backs up what I am saying. http://www.gamespot.com/features/6182806/p-6.html
Your 3dmark number doesn't prove anything. My 8800gs does 11000 on 3dmark with my cpu. Go read some articles about cpu scaling and then come back. Crysis is hampered by video card and not cpu.
It's so easy to prove crysis is video card limited. Go try benchmarking "your" 8600gt on low settings and than benchmark @ medium settings. Low settings will give you better frame rates than medium settings with your cpu. Why? Because your cpu is not being bottlenecked. It's your video card. If your cpu was being bottlenecked low settings or medium settings will give you barely any gain.
So where did you get those numbers from? You kept a benchmark when you had a 8800gt for a few days or did you just make up some numbers because I can see that from you.
You do not even know how to read a benchmark. Gamespot was using medium settings where a 8800gtx isn't video card limited but your 8600gt is.
