I'm trying to pick out a new card for my brother who has a Dell XPS system built in 2005 (P4 @ 3.2ghz, 2gb RAM, Win XP) and it has one of those proprietary 460W PSUs. The Dell tech couldn't tell my brother how many amps on the 12v rail and it's not listed on the unit anywhere.
This article is very timely b/c I was looking at these exact 2 cards -- it's going to come down to what will go easier on his PSU.

Really? I thought they were on pretty good terms with ATI? They were also one of the few review sites to use the most current driver available for their review of the HD3870X2 to show it in it's best light? For the record I don't frequent their site so I won't be arguing with you on this. I'm just surprised you're saying this, that's all.
