Actually, wouldnt it be the HD 3850 as the Pro ? Since AMD is dropping the GT, Pro, XT and XTX names .
RV670 is Radeon HD 3800 Series
VR-Zone has learned that the official marketing name for RV670 will be Radeon HD 3800 series. Previously, they are known as Radeon HD 2950 series. Earlier, AMD has made changes to the naming of the Phenom processors and now the changes are being made to the graphics cards too. As such, AMD has decided to drop PRO, XT, GT, XTX from their future HD 3000 series graphics series and the last 2 digits of the series will determine the performance of the card. RV670PRO will be known as Radeon HD 3850 while RV670XT will be know as Radeon HD 3870 when they are launched on Nov 15th.

I think 3870xt or whatever they're calling the 825/2400 gpu is going to come close to 8800gtx. ATI has supposedly fixed the AA/AF problems, too. Nvidia moved their release up as far as possible b/c they know that they're going to lose tons of sales once rv670 is out.
Let's wait and see.Originally posted by: Astrallite
I don't expect the 8800GT to be as fast as the GTS in DX9 either, but definitely for DX10 it will do very well, which I guess is the point since it's better to have a card that can do about 30fps in both modes rather than a card that does 40 in DX9 but 20 in DX10.

I certainly hope AMD fixed AA and AF. And I also hope they found a way to get all of those shaders kept busy. Here's to hoping that R600 was but a stepping stone to much better things.
