8800GTS Rev A3 - Where to buy?

Was just wondering if anyone knew of some sites that sell guaranteed rev A3 8800gts cards ?

Later revisions of GPUs can clock higher and possibly run cooler as the process matures. Much like CPUs.

This is why the 8800 Ultra went from $800+ to $600 so quick. Instead of using cherry picked cores, G80 cores can now hit Ultra speeds consistantly.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy one of BFG or EVGA's factory overclocked models? They actually warranty you if they don't run at overclocked speeds.

I always wondered why this is not the case already. The real world performance boosts from overclocking are more significant on GPUs. Maybe it's just because the batch codes are harder to look at, as the cooler has to be removed.

Well - there are windows apps that will tell you what rev you have...

Let me rephrase the question - has anyone purchased an 8800GTS and been lucky enough to receive one wih an A3 rev? If yes - where did you buy it? If several people name the same store then I'd try my luck there...

BFG Tech 8800 GTS 640MB OC2 version. Rev A3, bought from newegg. Did some overclocking tests as I was curious to see how high it would go even though it was factory overclocked. Got it up to 675 core and 2000mhz memory. (1000x2)

Is it a fair assumption that the 8800GTS cards that come "superclocked" (overclocked) from the manufacturer with full warranty might be the revision A3 GPUs?

that's amazing overclocking compare to my 8800gtx... factory 576/1800, oc to 630/2000 max.. maybe i should switch to A3 too.
