It's over now, but there was also a deal on Gskill Sniper DDR3-1600 CAS 9 1.5v RAM for $29.99 FS at Newegg as well. I had someone order five sets for me.

I wanted the Snipers over the Ripjaws for purely aesthetic reasons (black fits my theme better than red) but it was all sold out when I made my order. Must be your fault, buying up 5 sets and all! If I see you selling them at profit in FS I'm calling foul

Why did I buy these? I already have 8GB of 1333 that I bought at $50 when I thought there was no way they'd get cheaper. Well, these are 1600MHz so hopefully I can unload the slower ones for $30

Right now I'm using these.

Would it be worth adding the kit that's on sale here (which has slower timings but both are 1600)? Thanks.

I wish those g.skill snipers 1600 low voltage memory would go on sale again. Now with the newegg gift cards, id get one hell of a deal if they would just drop another $5-$10.

Picked up 16 GB as well today with the Google deal. Will have an extra 4 GB sitting around but couldn't bring myself to go 24 GB on my X58 board.

I first took notice of the prices when NE started their Black November Month sales but I think they were having sales that low before that. Not sure.

Thanks for the deal post!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I saw this when you posted it and picked up 2 sets and used a 10 bucks off offer I was emailed from the egg. Works perfectly just like my previous ripjaws memory purchases.

It's easy for me to pass this up. 16gb for a gaming machine is like putting a wing on a minivan.

Rice :whiste:

And a post like this is just like "thread crapping"...

What's that about the default speed being 11-11-11, does that need adjusting?

you can manually set the 9-9-9 cas they are rated for in the BIOS. the 11-11-11 default is just JEDEC standard to ensure that they will work in any board @ 1600 instead of getting met with a big fat no-POST.

Really?

Thread crapping is against hot deals forum rules. But then again for 10k posts in the last 10 years, you already knew that, huh. This ain't off topic and nobody cares what you think.

Really. :whiste:

I really wish they would put those low voltage sniper sets on sale. I want some of those. I keep hearing many people saying a hyper tx 212 plus on some gigabyte boards(same setup I was most likely going to buy), wont fit with the ripjaw x's.

Tough call for me because I could get 16GB of this for $30 after the 10 off promo and the $40 newegg giftcard that was $20. 16GB for $30...hummm... but if they didnt fit, thats 16GB of paper weight.

Is the Sniper faster. I also have 8gb Sniper 1600, was thinking of getting these.
I read somewhere they are the same chips on both.

Well, they arnt "faster". But the ones I am talking about are low voltage which means lower(slightly) power consumption, less heat, maybe more overclocking headroom and slightly lower profile(ie, can fit under a heatsink, unlike ripjaws on certain setups may not fit)

These are the ones ive been waiting for to go on sale again. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231461
