I have a problem with 8rda+ that I bought few days ago.

It was running fine for almost 2-3 hours at ~2.3ghz then all of sudden the system turns off.

Now I can get it to power up but I can't get it to boot or get into the BIOS.

The error code is 6D and it stops right before where the IDE hardwares detect. I tried clearing BIOS and taking out battery for few mins too..

Is the motherboard gone bad due to overclocking? I am not sure what to do now... Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Most probably the CPU or memory is bad. Not to say the mobo cant' go bad; it can. Do you have ANY other Socket462 CPU/DDR memory you can swap in there? Most prolly the CPU. Good luck.

I have this mobo..as do many others. Its' MEANT to take mega-abuse....CPU is what I think.

Also, try unplugging all drives and unnecessary cards, and see if it behaves any differently. If it gets past the drive detection stage and stops after enumerating the IRQ's on the next screen, try adding one thing at a time and see what stops it.

MichaelD, I know it's not CPU or memory because I already have tried another CPU and Memory Stick. Both doesn't work.

I found something strange now.. It DOES boot once I take out MS Intellimouse 3.0 Mouse but it will keep on freeze at boot when I plug back on..

I am soooo confused right now.

Are you using the front USB header, the one shown on page 3-11 of the manual (USB3)? If you are, make sure not to plug anything onto pin 10, the bottom-left pin.

Thanks guys.. I don't know what was going on.. but I just flashed the bios to another version and seems like everything is working again.

That was pretty weird experience for me but I guess I've learned not to overclock TOO MUCH with Panaflow fans.

Sounds like the same bug I found in another Epox motherboard. On my 8K3A+ I couldn't boot up with a USB mouse plugged in after I went to the 2B01 BIOS rev. Other people with 8K5A3+ boards had the same problem. Must be a common BIOS code problem Epox has introduced into all their boards (or many at least).

Pin 10 is the over current pin.. I use it and my board works fine and the USB is safe that way... you meant pin 9 which is the key pin and it is located on the bottom left pin.. I have nothing there so that's probably what you meant to say..
