hey i just got the 8rda+ today and tried to install it. It wouldn't boot up, it seems to get stuck on the boot code "C3", then it cycles through again and again...no video signal but fans spin up.

Here's what i currently have on it: XP1800+, Samsung 256mb PC2700, GF3...everything else is disconnected.

Thinking it's a ram problem, I swapped it out with a Crucial PC2100 but same results. BTW, I tried all the slots...

is my motherboard bad?

Your board probably isn't bad. But whomever makes the DIMM retention clips for Epox boards should be shot. The clips on my old 8KHA+ were a PITA also, and it would typically take me several times to get the memory seated properly. Fortunately when i got my 8RDA+ i didn't have a problem with it.

Wow...I never had a problem placing my memory into my 8RDA+, nor my old 8K7A+ or even older 8KTA. Seating them was just the same as putting memory into my Gigabyte and MSI boards - no easier, no harder. Weird. Are you sure the retention clips are any different from other boards?

Edit: A 'lot of people' = 2? I'm sorry, but this is how rumors get started. Take a look here (I sure hope adelacru doesn't mind, hehe). Often we're very quick to blame the board, but it's something else entirely - something we might've overlooked and not even known it. It's happened to me before, it's likely happened to most of us. With that being said, I hope you find out what's wrong, meksta.

Well, I got burned by this. In fact my power supply wouldn't even power up - the power supply fan failed to spin at all. I finally removed the 1 stick of RAM I'd installed and voila - the system came to life. After that everything was easy. Oh yeah, I had the same problem when I incorrectly installed the 2nd stick of RAM - the power supply failed to come on again. Picky, picky, picky.

Nice little board, though.
