With 797,700 points difference, contact in 7 hours would require 114,000 points/hour difference of output rate. Yet our output is 125,000...155,000 p/h, theirs is 120,000...140,000 p/h.

Meaning that the "7 hours until contact" have been calculated with our unusual "production" during today's morning hours included. But I am certain we cannot reproduce this rate now.

Edit: In fact, those "7 hours until contact" were calculated based on the 24 hour output difference.

Based on our current advantage in hourly production of ~15,000 p/h more than AF, the real time until contact is ~55 hours.

Edit: Most of what was uploaded today in the morning, was slightly smelly old stuff from before the race, more than 3 days worth of production of a certain user of ours.

Wow, if WCG gave me a Ruby award for my puny contribution, I wonder what they gave Stefan!?

RKN had been breathing down our necks, and was throwing bombs last night and today in the morning. And who knows what other acts of desperation the competing teams are capable of in the last hours of the race.

if WCG gave me a Ruby award for my puny contribution, I wonder what they gave Stefan!?

Congrats crashtech. WCG badges aren't easily earned, are they? Outside races I had been working towards my next Mapping Cancer Markers badge, and it oftentimes feels like watching paint dry.

Yesterday I was north of 9 years for OpenZika, and today I found myself at 11 years. At 12:00 UTC, the badge robot at WCG made his rounds and sent the 10y-Diamond badge towards me.*

I recall that 10esseeTony got a 20y badge in February.

*) At least this somewhat distracts from the guilt of having practiced what has elsewhere been termed carpet bombing.

I can only imagine the hysteria, the shear panic, as those ranked above us shook with fear, wondering when, no, wondering IF the onslaught or your bombing campaign would ever end! Hee hee hee heeee!

I'm 3 years and 13 hours away from a 30y-Diamond. Nope, scratch that, it jumps from 20 to 50, then 50 to 100 years.

OcUK tossed a WCG grenade at RKN, and moved up a spot in not only in WCG, but the overall as well, knocking us down to 11th.

In the previous hour, I realized that getting 113 thousand BOINC points in WCG is NOT going to happen, but theses little grenades popping off from below us will steadily chisel away at the 310k BOINC point lead we had last hour, so I'm crunching WCG to the last.

What notices, the race stats or the badges?

Badges here.

Thanks, I figured it out. I have a 10 year for mapping cancer markers. and some other nice ones.

On the same Einstein project preferences page toward the bottom there is another CPU setting, make sure it is set to NO also so you don't receive CPU tasks in place of gpu tasks that are available. Hope that will help.

yeah, that's set for NO as well..

Just in case anyone didn't notice, WCG Zika is a finished project on the Pentathlon. Final scores should be tallied within a few hours at most, but it seems the TeAm has secured 9th place. Well done!!!

The only current CPU project is Cosmology, with LHC starting up in 48 hours. There is widespread frustration with those trying to bunker LHC.

Of course the Einstein GPU race is still ongoing, for another 4 days.

@Markfw Will you be staying with WCG, or switching over to Cosmology? You may want to just run the legacy tasks if switching to Cosmo, if there are any at the moment.

I successfully have LHC up and running VB doing fine. Don't know why it didn't like Cosmology. First Atlas task should be done in about 30min. I'm just going to let it run a bit and see how it does.

Edit: Currently have 41 pages of Einstein tasks pending validation.

My Linux boxen are now begging the Cosmology@Home server for legacy tasks. Tried to set up virtualbox on one of them but had no luck so far: Tasks always error out, and searching the web for error strings did not turn anything useful up. Will try again later maybe. Or maybe not. (Whats so beneficial of running a Linux application as Linux guest on a Linux hypervisor?)

First Atlas task completed and validated 375 points. Not a anything to bunker though, only received 10 tasks, estimated time of 50min each to complete.

Everyone crunching watch out if your on Win 10. Just had a message in the action center to restart the PC outside of active hours. So, I snoozed boinc, exited and restarted real fast to get the update installed, instead of waking up to a rebooted system that didn't crunch all night.

So am I brother, lol. The Virtual Machines, the editing of the host file, the advanced bunkering techniques, endless app_config changes/tweaks, etc etc has me a bit dizzy too.

Just make sure you stay on Einstein for us, and add any cards you can. When's that Ti due to arrive?

I like to simply disable Windows Update via the Services applet when the machine is "otherwise engaged." Updates can wait, Windows.

Was not successful at getting Cosmology@Home to work. It looked like it was working, but no CPU was being used. Not sure what the deal was.

Yeah! I am on the list too, and much much further up than I could have expected (27th). I've been running planck? Thought I had everything set for the other one and legacy....

I usually like being up to date with Windurs. You guys have passwords on your systems or something? Restarts resume BOINC'ing for me (with no password).

1080TI is due tomorrow. Its in town right now, so I expect it to be on time. Its going in the Ryzen 1800x system, they don't seem to care about sharing CPU with WCG and F@H in the video card. The INtel boxes need 2 cores. My 1700x has a 1070, and ppd seems just fine at 100% for WCG

Same here, LHC did fine though. I opened the VB first, then registered my account and let it download tasks. Running smooth for now. I forget to disable the win update service.

Thought I had LHC working last night, woke up this morning to all LHC tasks reporting something like this:

5/10/2017 4:48:08 AM | LHC@home | task postponed 86400.000000 sec: VM Hypervisor failed to enter an online state in a timely fashion.

Cosmology did the same thing.
