I pushed the 780Ti gpu clock up to 1205 MHz (boost) and am now getting 220K PPD.

That's insane output!

So despite reading a news item on the F@H site (which I can no longer find now ) saying anything NVidia pre G4xx is to be retired imminently, I thought I'd just try it anyway on my 2nd rigs GTX 260 c216.
And it's crunching happily , I did a rollback on the drivers to v327 as mentioned earlier, thx for that tip guys .
Hopefully my card will remain supported through the race at least!

Yes, you'll need a passkey to get bonus-points. Also, you'll need to have returned 10 results with the passkey before you'll get the bonus.
Ok thx mate , I did find that out latter on too .

In the pic above it is quite obvious, that the races have increased the production of the team quite a lot and have added a number of points to the yearly production ...

In the table above it is clear that the TeAm's 2013-race production is very much higher then the TeAm's production during the race in 2012: in the 14 first days of the race we have produced 84,2% of the whole December 2012 production. If the production continues as it is now (i.e. no increase, no decrease) then the TeAm should get some 122 Million points in December 2013! It is not impossible to reach 125 million points, but then we must recruit, borgh, assimilate and/or optimize the folding of the racers and - if possible - the whole team!

It looks as if we could get to position #18 if we do just a bit more ... that would be really nice!

Thanks for all the Stats Peter!

Looks like the core 17 OpenCL gpu app has made quite a difference.

Except , all of a sudden, I too am not getting them, and at half the ppd.

I noticed that the PPD from my 560TI has gone from its usual 15K-20K (w/ 8900) to over 29K while it crunches a 7624 WU.

Anybody know if there's a way for me to 'encourage' F@H to send me the good WUs for my 560TI?

Not much you can do. Coincidentally, I was just looking at the FAH server status page and if I am reading it correctly there are no 8900 wu's to give out. I haven't found out why. The 8900 units are "the" ones because they have a 6,000 point value.............
We may have run them out. Hopefully they will be in on Monday and get more out and available.

Well, the only sure way of getting core 17 WUs or no work at all is to run the version 7 client in linux. Core 15 or earlier was never supported in linux.

Got the below from someone in the folding forums:

From: Zagen30
To: markfw
If you and your teammates were getting nothing but core 17 WUs until yesterday, I'm guessing you all were running client-type:beta. For the last few months this was handing out nothing but core 17's (probably not on purpose), but one PG member recently created a new core 15 project (7627) and sent it to beta. This has caused all of the 762x projects to have gotten a high beta priority and cut off that steady core 17 flow. On client-type:advanced and no flag, people have been getting mixtures of core 17 and core 15 work for a while. Each type seems to come in spurts, i.e. people will get several core 15s in a row followed by a few core 17's in a row, then back to core 15's, etc.

If you and your teammates haven't been using client-type:beta, then you must have just been extraordinarily lucky.

I'm PMing this because you're not allowed to discuss beta stuff on the official forums unless it's in the beta section, which requires one to be part of the beta team. I feel your pain, as I have 2 780s that have gotten nothing but core 15s for the past 3 days or so, and the PPD has dropped from 67-80% depending on which projects I get. The 762x's run my cards hotter than core 17's did and aren't as tolerant of OCing, so I've had to drop the clocks by about 50 MHz as well (1215 to 1175). I'm just sucking it up and hoping that they get more core 17 projects out, and accepting that the core 15 stuff needs to get done and that I've been avoiding them far longer than I should have been able.

As multiple people said in the thread, core 17 is the future, so we should all be getting the great PPD it brings on a regular basis in the near-ish future once the core 15 projects finish and more core 17 projects are generated.

Those numbers make me think you are not using a passkey for bonus points. The 8900 WUs give a bonus for early return so your ppd should be significantly higher with those.

Get your passkey here if you don't already have one:

http://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/faq-passkey/

Note that you will need to complete 10 WU with passkey before the bonus will start to apply.

@theAnimal: Nope; using a passkey here.

What sort of PPD would you expect to see from a 560TI?

Well I guess the core 15 WUs are keeping my GTX 260 busy for now! right?

Thx for the extra stats Petrus , finally my output is beginning to pick up, although maybe that's more down to the 260?

The way it used to work when I was folding: They don't just make more available. They would have to start a new project using core 17.

So why are there core 17 WUs sometimes?
If all of the original WUs have been assigned and there are more clients asking for another WU than there are to give out - then the assignment server skips that WU server until there are more than (usually) 100 WUs from clients sending in finished WUs. (Other than original WUs, new WUs are created from returned results)

So, if your client needs a WU when there are less than 100 then you get assigned something else. Years ago when I used to sneakernet WUs, I used to "time" when I got new WUs.

I suppose if there is a bright side, as far as the race is concerned, we are all in the same boat.................

Thanks Mark.
I have been using the "advanced" flag only for some time now. No "Beta". I tried it once but only got very slow wu's so I dropped that flag.
Sounds like we are at the mercy so to speak of the project folks at Stanford.

My bad, should have looked up the numbers first. 20k sounds about right. It's just weird that you get higher ppd with no bonus.

Thanks for the stats, Peter.

Will we be taking a break for the PG solstice challenge?

Well, we will do as we did the past years: there will be a break for the PrimeGrid Race.
I'll post the stats until December 18, approx 21:00 UTC.
After the PrimeGrid Race, biodoc has offered to take over the stats, since I'll be abroad and not able to update the stats regularly.
OTOH: those who do not switch, may continue to fold ... in some past races we counted those points in the Holiday Season Race, in other races we did not ... Usually it did not matter very much ...

Really nice numbers! Considering it all (incl. the PrimeGrid Race) the racers could produce 92 - 93 million points ... in one month.

I take back what I said about us all being in the same boat................
It is only Windows users who are experiencing shortage of Fahcore 17 wu's.
Apparently Linux core 17 wu's are still plentiful. grrrr
