Thanks for the stats Peter!

I finally had some time to mess with F@H on my machine. Ends up it was a Windows 7 admin install / user profile issue. All sorted out and crunching now.

Don't see that option anywhere.
Like most configuration-options in the FAH-client, you'll need to manually add it yourself...

... and where to add it is also difficult to know...

Frankly, I'm drawing a blank on how to really configure this option, since every time I stop the FAH-client it's gone then re-starts the client, but hopefully someone else knows how to configure this option...

The way I understand this is as follows:
open FAH Control in expert mode.
click configure
click expert tab
on left under extra client options click add
type in the name box: next-unit-percentage
type in the value box: 100
click the save button.

I think this applies the setting globally for all slots.

I think.

Yeah, this might work.

I modified each slot.

Open FAHConfigure
open configure
click on the slots tab
highlight the cpu or gpu slot and then choose edit
scroll down to the "extra slot options"
click on "add"

for name: type next-unit-percentage
for value: type 100

repeat for all slots.

When I do that in Linux, FAHConfigure changes the values back to 99. D: I've tried adding it manually to the config file, but I don't know if it worked or not.

It works great for bigadv on linux, but I think no other OS or client makes any difference, they all download fast, except linux bigadv takes an hour. or more.

Does anybody have any REAL power usage data on 2 gtx560ti cards@100% and a 780 and 780ti card @ 100%. Considering dumping 2 560ti cards (about 10k each ppd) for a 780 or 780ti card, but somewhere I saw a 450 watt usage number on the 780 cards. NOT a good idea for me with a $300 monthly electric bill already.

Well, AnandTech has bench numbers here. Note that this includes the whole system power consumption. Looks like the 780 takes about 65W more than one 560ti in Furmark.

Also note that while the v6 client runs my GTX460 really hard, the v7 client with OpenCL doesn't run it as hard, heat wise. So "100%" may not be entirely comparable between applications or cards.

I put a Kill-a-watt on this computer:

3930K@ 3.8 GHz
Asus x79 sabertooth MB
PNY GTX780Ti with +100 MHz overclock (final boost clock under load from FAH= 1105 MHz

Kill-a-watt readings:

96 watts with no folding (idle)
GPU slot paused (10% TDP)
CPU slot paused

238 watts with CPU SMP 10 folding
GPU slot paused (10% TDP)

490 watts with CPU and GPU folding (~92% TDP)

478 watts with CPU and GPU (no overclock) (87% TDP)

This is the method I've tried, except I've tried with 99 instead of 100. But, if I stop & re-start the client, the setting has dissappeared...

Hmm, just checked on the client I've not re-started, and apparently it's all the time downloading at 98%.

So, let's see if biodoc's suggestion works better...

Thanks for the stats Peter.

And probably even way worse when PCTC2 comes back from his business trip. He was at 675k ppd or so before the race. Thats almost 400k more than his current average.

Thx for the stats Petrus

I'm officially confused though , my client is telling me I should get 11k ppd (bar a rare BSOD today which knocked it down to 8k ), yet I'm not even doing 1k ppd, am I missing something?

[edit]Think I know why now actually, I didn't have a passkey! Doh! Would that do it?

RD
I tried Biodocs method & it stayed after a reboot (after the above mentioned BSOD)

Anyone else not getting Core 17 GPU WUs?

Yes, You need a 6xx series and the V7 client to get ZETA (better known as) WU's, I have 2 right now.

EDIT: now I see the word NOT, I AM getting them.

Yes, you'll need a passkey to get bonus-points. Also, you'll need to have returned 10 results with the passkey before you'll get the bonus.

Good, I had also better luck with Biodocs method since had to reboot due to windows-updates. But apparently where's a bug in v7.3.6 meaning 100% is treated as 99%. Still, it's an improvement from 98% atleast.

Sorry you guys had trouble with that setting but my computers are all set the single entry way and are calling home at 99% as advertised. I guess different setups react differently. Glad biodoc's way worked for you.

theAnimal : I was just getting ready to ask about the 8900 wus myself. I am not getting any Fahcore 17 work for last day or so. Really tells in the credit count.

I think.

According to the User Guide, this should work as long as you add the option on the left panel as Pokey says.
