Some kids just feel unnoticed and forgotten and want attention. When I was in HS my best friend killed himself and the school refused to acknowledge him or his death for fear that other kids would think that if they followed suit they'd get public recognition.

Pellet guns are suppose to have an easily visible orange piece of plastic on the muzzle. If the kid removed this "safety" feature well then the cop had really no choice then to employ deadly force in this case. imo.

Its fing crazy when cops are executing children in school hallways, esp when he just has a pellet gun. Cops are supposed to be trained to handle situations like this w/o killing someone. A lot of kids are a bit mental at that age. You can't just shoot them in front of their classmates.
When people talk about big govt tyranny, this is the examples that come to my mind. Not only did they not resolve the situation without killing someones child, they scarred many of the other students there. Incompetance and cowardice of an 8th grader with a bb gun. Shameful.

Now people will just put a orange piece of plactic around the muzzle of a real gun to fake out the cops to think its a toy gun. I think the guns themselves need to be crazy colors like neon green or something. The whole gun not just a little piece on the muzzle. That way the really stand out as being fake.
having been in a situation where cops have seen a lot of fake guns that look very legitimate(used to be big into airsoft), you set them down they cannot tell the difference. they'd have no way of knowing it was just shooting bbs until it actually fired bbs. this kid is an idiot or he wanted to die. it sucks because there's probably a bigger underlying story and we haven't heard it yet or we won't ever.
and that in a high tension moment with other lives in danger a normal cop can hit a 8th grader in a way to put them down and not kill them.
