In a Republican Primary in Florida today, 1/11/08, after John McCain?s New Hampshire win and before voting takes place in Michigan or South Carolina, McCain defeats former national frontrunner Rudolph Giuliani 27% to 19%, according to SurveyUSA?s latest tracking poll for WFLA-TV Tampa.

(SurveyUSA is an independent, non-partisan, full-service opinion research firm that conducts scientific research for media, government, and private-sector clients. By many measures, SurveyUSA is the nation?s largest public opinion polling firm. As of 2002, 19 of the nation?s then 25 largest media companies had contracted with SurveyUSA to conduct opinion research.)

Poor 9-11. Barring another 9-11 the old 9-11 looks to be gone 1-29.
86 for 9-11 on 1-29?

Yes, things are looking bleak for 9/11.

The latest CNN polling data I posted in the other thread confirms it.

So rumor has, Rudy also has some money woes. For his campaign, Florida is somewhat a must have. I have somewhat of a visceral dislike of phonies and Giuliani therefore
is high on my dislike list. I may hope his candidacy is dead for 08, but only time will tell.

Of all the Republican candidates I hate Giuliani the most. (Romney is doing a good job of making me hate him too though) I could live with McCain winning, and even though Huckabee is a crazy evolution denier I could probably live with a few years of his presidency. 9/11 and Romney though have both staked their claim to the farthest right xenophobic policies you could possibly take.

They wouldn't just be as bad as Bush, I think there's a good chance they would be worse.

Rubbish. His staff are forgoing their January paycheck not because of lack of money but because. Well, just because they want to

911 would be a sh*t president and it's good to see his campaign floundering, just like all of his marriages, relationships with his kids, and his relationship with the truth have all floundered.

They wouldn't just be as bad as Bush, I think there's a good chance they would be worse.

Giuliani is the only one I see who I really believe could be every bit as bad as bush, also, and has the potential to be worse. He is Satan's greatest creation.

It would be nice if this was the start of a trend in the decline of "9/11" having some magical power over people that can be used to get them to overlook all sorts of bullshit. Rudy is a truly terrible candidate, the ONLY reason he was even able to enter the race at all is that he just happened to be mayor of New York City on 9/11. The fact that people are maybe realizing that this isn't a great reason to elect the guy President gives me hope that 9/11 will cease being one of the magic words to politics in this country.

I think Rudy still has a chance if he can win Florida.

let's say Romney wins Michigan and the Huckster wins SC with a strong showing by Thompson, it'll be a wide open field on super tuesday if Rudy can use his name recognition and free press from Florida to win, especially given the fact that it's fairly likely that he's going to take all of NJ and NY's delegates.

Good to hear he's dropping in the polls. Of all the republican candidates he is by far the worst(fallowed closely by Romney). I'd gladly take McCain over him, despite having lost respect for the guy after he bent over for the GOP smear machine.

It's about time. That man would make Bush look like a saint. I'll be playing my small part in being one less vote he gets for the Florida primaries. Kind of hoping McCain takes all myself. Then I'd have someone to vote for against Hillary.
