Seeing some reports of screen burn in in some reviews, I guess I'll just have to live with it but this is why I dislike having AMOLED screens on phones. There are just too many permanent things on the screen that make burn in far too easy to happen. Unfortunately the android community seemed to decide long ago that AMOLED is automatically superior to LCDs so now every "premium" phone seems to push it. Personally I'd much rather have a good LCD and not have to worry about burn in than have better blacks. Some newer LCDs I've used have been great too, the Z3 compact and iphone 6 both had really good LCDs that weren't really bad compared to my note 4.

I'd be fairly skeptical about those claims, I doubt it's been out long enough to get screen burn yet.

I've got an HTC desire and an S2 both with OLED screens and neither of them have screen burn.

I have never experienced any kind of screen burn in on any phone I've ever used.

It's not just better blacks, it's near perfect blacks. For me it's a bit of an eyesore after getting used to that and then going back to an LCD. Also the potential power savings with stuff like black backgrounds.

Another thing nice about AMOLED is that it doesn't get affected by polarized sun glasses like LCD does. If I turn my LCD screens into landscape mode for GPS then I can't read them with polarized sunglasses. Not an issue with AMOLED.

I have it on my Nexus 6 for sure. The navigation icons are burned into the screen. Faint, but it is there. I'm not that bothered by it to tell the truth and you really have to look for it. I would say I first noticed the burn-in after a few months of use but it could have been there earlier.

Yeah I just checked on my note 4 and don't see anything, chances are if it ever happens on my 6P I probably won't even notice unless I look for it.

I think that is one benefit of Samsung having actual buttons for the menu functions rather than integrating them into the screen. The navigation menu is visible almost all the time on a device without dedicated buttons. I actually prefer the buttons integrated into the screen, but burn-in on AMOLED devices is a trade off when using them.

I can just barely use my 5X with one hand. I"m hoping that adding a case will help provide more grip.

Does Android M have any features to help with bigger screen? I remember iPhone has something where you tap the home button a certain way and it drags the screen down for easier access.

Got my 6P and first thing is phone is built like a tank. Even the sim tray is aluminum. Has same footprint as my one plus one so it's not a giant phone by any means. The fingerprint scanner is lightning fast like all the reviews say.

The power brick is actually type-c and phone comes with a c to c and c to a cable. You can only use the c to c cable on the power brick.

The Nexus 6 feels and looks like a cheap phone next to the 6P.

I am definitely getting a stronger t-mo signal on the 6P than the OPO. It hasn't moved from full bars around my house while the OPO only gets full bars in one place.

Nice, have you used GPS at all yet? I use it a lot so it's pretty important to me, I feel like it's something reviews kind of ignore nowadays.

Hopefully the GPS is better than on my Nexus 5. Barely works.

I feel like I'm going to have buyers remorse with the 5x having not gone in for the 6p. But I've already owned a Note II and currently have a G4...I don't want anything bigger.

The 6p is huge, if you don't want huge, you'll be unhappy.

Burn-in is inevitable and it is a matter of degree. All displays deteriorate in some fashion, some faster than others, AMOLED burn-in is a well known issue. While it is imperceivable for many years under typical usage scenarios, if you use the phone at max brightness while displaying static visual elements all the time you will see it sooner than expected.

The 5X is not really a one-handed device for me. On the S6 I can at least use the keyboard one-handed, but not on the 5X. I guess I could if I really tried, but then it feels like I am going to drop the phone. The phone feels like a mini-phablet.

I'm on a new nexus 6 from moto after 9 months because I've had some burn in. Unfortunately with the onscreen buttons its bound to happen. But this one I have now doesn't have anything yet.

Got my Play store credit and coupon for "half off 5X case". Case one is sort of lame. Only good towards the basic shell. Was hoping to be able to apply it to the microfiber one. No go.

And on the topic of cases, careful what you buy on the 5x. There must have been a bad template sent to China because most of them are missing the Microphone hole in the bottom. I'm fine taking a small drill bit to the case and "fixing" that...but if you look at any case with 2-3 star reviews it's people complaining about the cases missing the hole.

Seems like an easy enough fix to me. *Shrug*.

Yah I have one now and I see there is no backlight bleeds. Thank you.

Edit: Upon close examination there is a glimpse of backlight at the top of the screen. You have to stare at it to see it, though.

Just realized that the Nexus 6P also supports HD voice on tmobile. When you have a good connection a little HD icon appears in the call screen and call sounds a zillion times better.

Also wifi calling on tmobile works flawlessly too. Not sure if its because I have a 120meg connection with wireless ac1200.

I wonder what's up with the frost 6P's, I haven't seen anyone who ordered one have it ship yet, but plenty of graphite and aluminum ones going out. Some people are getting emails from google telling them their order is delayed, I haven't gotten anything yet but it's not supposed to ship until next Monday so I guess I'll see what happens.
