So is anyone actually having no problems with the 5x? Debating between the 5x and s7 but not a huge fan of TW. I would also like to switch over to Google fi.
If you're considering the S7, you should consider the 6P rather than the 5x.

The 5x isn't worth it considering many people are having problems (granted some have no problems)

I created a thread about camera photos that I had taken with my Nexus 6P just disappeared from my camera gallery. Tried several photo recovery windows programs and then installed some on my phone with no luck being unrooted.

Will rooting my phone now cause me to lose all of my data? And how easy is it to root then unroot my 6P?

Yes, you'll be wiping your device. In order to root you need to unlock your bootloader, and that is the process that'll start you over. Once your bootloader is unlocked it's quite easy to root and it won't wipe your phone again. Relocking your bootloader isn't that simple from what I read either.

I think to relock you need to remove your Google account, enable OEM unlock in debug settings and then issue the relock command via adb. I had done it before the February update and it was fine. Not sure if it changed after that.

I remember when it was simple, bootloader oem lock.

I haven't kept up on the changes, but I know the information is out there. I haven't felt the need to root since KitKat. Even before that, I was just flashing bone stock ROMs on my VZW GNex.

Another question, with Marshmallow, did they replace the Lost.DIR folder with the lost+found folder?

5x is $199/$249 now with Fi activation. This model must have been a real dud for google with all the discounts they have been pushing for it.

Damn. Almost a full 2 bennies less than I paid for it 5 months ago. That will completely bottom out the secondary market prices.

That is what I am thinking too. It goes on sale every other week. This is a new low though. Too bad it sucks.

Meanwhile the 6P price is holding strong.

Everything I hear about the 5X makes it sound like an dud so no surprise there.

Meanwhile, I'm still not 100% certain I'll move to the GS7e from my 6P. If the 6P had a SD820 I'd 100% stay on it.

Whatever Nexus has the 820 first will be Android's first four year device.

My 5X has been behaving normally after wiping and flashing PureNexus. Smooth and decent battery life. I didn't enable encryption this time... I noticed performance issues on the prvious ROM (Resurrection Remix) only after enabling encryption, so that might have been the problem.

What problems people are having with the 5X? I had it for 3 months before giving it away and I have mostly positive memory of it. Only negatives were hardware/design-related. It had a well-known S808/S810 problem and the phone was not very comfortable for my hands. Other than those I do not remember having unexpected problems.

Seems a little quick to be going to the next letter already, doesn't it? Though there hasn't been a lot of rhyme or reason to how they've handled version numbers and name changes yet so who knows.

Its just a preview, release date is in q3. Think they want the pixel c guys to play with the multi window options, this should of been built into 6.0 but google knows best right?

Multi-window really needs to be built in at this point with all these phablets we have now.

poofy or any other Nexus fans ...

What are the chances we'll see a new Nexus with Snapdragon 820, 5.5", fingerprint reader, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB, etc.?
