The n5x really isn't that bad but it really sucks that I can't even pay for a 64GB model. I'm right at the limit on my 32GB LG G2 so this is a no-go for me.
And here's how people differ. I have an 8GB Nexus 4 and I've never filled it up in the 2 years I've had it.

See, a couple of games already eats up 2GB of space. Maybe your usage patterns don't use up that space, but it's trivially easy to fill up 8GB even if you're fully committed to putting your music and pictures all on the cloud with the data plan to support it.

I'm baffled as to why they've put the finger print scanner on the back of the phone. Once you've put a case on that thing with a little cut-out on the back, I can only imagine it's going to be even more awkward to use.

I have a retina MacBook, USB C kicks ass, IMHO. I know it's a pain to switch, but it's so nice not to have to worry about plug orientation.

Yes it's interesting that there isn't a huge furore over Google changing the connector from micro USB to USB C.

I dunno. That fingerprint sensor is in the exact place your index finger rests when you're holding your phone.

Yeah, rear scanners are rather useless, but when you don't have physical buttons on your phone, putting it on the front just makes your phone taller, which is also a bit of a trade off, though it does allow for a bigger battery to put in the now larger body.

No it's not. It would need to be much further left in the picture to be under my index figure. And it's also totally useless when you're unlocking your phone when it's lying on a surface.

Yeah, I'm thinking that's a great place for the fingerprint scanner. The front bottom mounted scanner on my iPhone 6 Plus works pretty well, but I do have to scoot my gripe of the phone down a little to balance and press it. The back finger print scanner is about where my fingers normally already are without needing to adjust my grip on the phone. And I don't use exceptionally thick cases, so I think it'll be fine for me.

Wonder if the LG made 5x will have knock to lock/unlock. Love that on my G2 & G4.

Should I cancel my preorder on the Sony? Just would appreciate some opinions.

Z5 Compact - £429

Nexus 5X - £379

£50 difference.

Advantages of Sony:

- smaller
- SD card support
- SD 810
- DDR4 RAM
- stereo speakers
- longer battery life
- fingerprint scanner on side
- waterproof
- camera???

Advantages of Nexus:

- higher DPI display
- Marshmallow at launch
- quicker updates
- Type-C USB
- Bluetooth 4.2
- camera???

Two years in a row I find irresistible deals right on time of new Nexus. eh. Last year it was an Xperia Z Ultra for $350+tax and this year it is an S6 for $409.. I wish it was fashionable to carry to more than 2 phones around.

If Google was selling over 100 million Nexus phones a year maybe the furore would be more proportionate.

By "much" you mean, about 1cm at most?

I suppose if you use your phone in a situation that you're unable to pick it up it might not work for you but then that what the voice command shit is for.

I've got invited to Project Fi. Is this related to today's event?

I don't know if this is invitation-worthy stuff or a beta testing.

Edit: Nexus Protect seems like a decent value.
