I feel like the 5X is a touch overpriced for the quality. They should have done 32GB at $380, and 64GB at $430.

I was pretty dead set on getting the 5X because of its size. But once the prices were released, spending the extra $70 on the 6P was an easy decision.

The 32GB 5x should have been $399 or less, IMO.

vol up works and the stop/play works but not vol down

these are Samsung earbuds, with the controls on the cord. standard cheap ones, worked with all other phones :/

Have you tried using it again in another phone? I know it worked before, but it could have failed after.

Already tried that, brand new set of earbuds. we literally have a few gallon sized bags full of them sitting in cube at work, still in their packaging

yea all you need is a sim, and you are good to go

takes the smaller sim card so you may have to trim yours or have them do it for you depending

Monoprice is selling Galaxy S6 32GB for $430 on Ebay. Same price as 32GB Nexus 5X.
5X needs a price cut badly, otherwise it's out of the running for me.

ok so update on this, seems its the Samsung headphones (pre S6 style & the new iphone clones ones) even new they don't work
iphone earbuds only play/pause no volume

tried some random ones (amazon fire phone) and they work fine

kinda sucks I liked the SS ones and how they felt in the ear

The Nexus 6 was allowed so it's not surprising that the 5X/6P is as well.

IIRC, the Moto X Pure is also allowed. (As well as all of the sim-free iPhone models starting with the 5S.)

I mean we are talking about a higher res screen with edge, OIS camera, etc. vs Stock Android in plastic cheapo phone.

What's so bad about TouchWiz? Seems like they add some cool features for the edge thing, no? Also, camera supposed to be really good. 14nm chipset. Is it just personal preference, or something wrong with it?

A year from now Android will get cool new features and Samsung will take forever to update, and will of course update their 2016 flagship models first which would leave me feeling frustrated. A year after that Android will again update and at that point your phone will be way down on Samsung's update radar, in effect almost forcing you to buy a new device to get the new version of Android in a timely manner. I'd recommend a 5X or 6p also.

if you always want your phone to be the most up-to-date it can be you have 2 options
1) buy a nexus
2) root/rom your device and run some custom version

TW isn't horrid, however some hate it, but yes manufs lag behind on updates, they have gotten better but are still bad

Nothing's wrong with Touchwiz. It's all android manufacturers to ignore their old products and update them in a timely manner

I feel like a year from now, Android will have force touch, and old devices won't support it anyways.

But you get a lot of stuff upfront with the S6 Edge:

-Higher Res AMOLED screen
-Smaller package than 5X, more usable screen space with HW buttons.
-Better SOC
-More RAM
-Edge functionality. It's a nice feature, IMO
-Better Build Quality
-Better Camera
-Micro USB, so can use current cables
-Wireless charging

No Android update will add those features to 5X.

No way would I choose a Galaxy over the 6p. I would only consider the Note 5 but it would have to be a non carrier version, I certainly wouldnt take a S6/Edge over the 6p
