Hey just figured out this deal...check out www.officemax.com for their next week's ad. They selling on the first page 200 Cd-r's 32x for 4.99 after rebate..

also they selling 3 different types(dont know exactly which one's which) of 48x CD-RW drives (prob get lucky and get a lite-on drive in the 3) for 19.99 after rebate..

Then they also selling 50 pack of Memorex Cd-r(i think TY might still be in them if u get lucky) for 4.99 after rebate..


well i figured... Add all them up and a coupon to get a sweet deal..well at least if u want Cd-r's lol...

ok i know thats a lotta cd-r but when u gotta have some u gotta have some..
the 200 cd-r i know are so so..but hey i used them and they ok..the only problem with them was they didnt have a front side coating of paint..

It appears as though one of those is a Verbatim. The model number for the 52X Verbatim is very close ( 2021684 instead of 20216375) and as far as I know Verbatims are Lite ons.

I can't vouch for that, but it is a starting place to check for Lite on.

I hate to rain on your parade ,rockyct, but the Verbatim and Cendyne 48x CDR drives that I have seen at OM recently have all been Benqs. And it's the 48x that is on sale, not the 52x. I would rather wait for something else than get the BenQ units.

I wasn't sure that Verbatim's were Lite-ons. My 32X is and my roommate's 48X is also, so that was all I knew. Also, the item numbers between the 48X and the 52X are extremely close and the fact that there isn't a 48X Verbatin drive listed is a clue that it will be on sale next week.

edit: This is in fact a 48X Verbatim. Scroll through this thread and see that someone who ordered a 48X Verbatim with the same item number.

The Memorex 50pk discs are almost always Taiwanese. They have been using TY discs in their 100 pk sleeves though.

well i dont know what one's you got..but the ones i got were always TY's just check if they made in Japan.

although that was about 6 months ago that i bought this drive..so i guess they may have changed to just other brands...

I'm looking at the Officemax circular right now and I only see one 48x CD burner for $19.99 after rebates. Does anyone know if this is a Lite-On? And what's the difference anyway between non Lite-Ons and Lite-Ons?

Was at Best Buy Saturday and the 100 Pk Memorex on sale were all Taiwanese. I guess I got lucky when I managed to get some that were TY's at Staples the previous week.

1) there's no officemax near my place so may not get the discs before 7 days and so may be disqualified for that 20 mir for the 200 cdrs

2) there's a lot of bitc*ing abt officemax rebates and khypermedia especially

any one have any other ideas on any rebate items that i can substitute for those 200 cds?

I ordered a combination of two hot deals... the dlink cable modem, adn the cendyne 48x cdrw from the website for a total of $35 for the two. I figured since i already have a buttload of cdrs i may as well get two things i need. I have a question though. When I ordered, on the reciept, it says the burner is on backorder. The rebate says I have to postmark it within 15 days of purchase. What happens if I dont get my burner within 15 days since its on backorder? is officemax good about getting backordered items in fast?
