90fps at 120hz vs 144hz

Let's say I'm after least amount of lag and best response times.

My game plays at 90fps. Does setting the monitor at 144hz vs 120hz give least amount of lag or no difference?

Whether someone notices or not is irrelevant. Will a high speed 10000fps camera notice?

Technically, 144hz gives you more updates of the information in the front buffer, so it might have a tiny bit of improvement that you'd never notice. If you have a 144hz monitor, you might as well use it. Alternatively, you could set your monitors refresh rate to 85 and use V-sync, or better yet, fast sync (if you have an Nvidia card). V-sync could added added latency if triple buffering is used, but Nvidia's Fast Sync option removes that latency issue.

You can make a 90hz custom resolution with the AMD drivers. Click preferences, Radeon Additional Settings.
