posts at overclockers (in English) and said he found the 90nm Winchesters run MUCH cooler than 130nm Socket 939 Newcastles and he says he's aware of other tests saying otherwise but that he tested them as running much cooler.

Either way, people who preordered them are getting them in a couple of days so we'll know who's right...

Ok, just ordered a 3500+ 90nm 939skt. Now the wait begins. I am putting this on the A8V v2.0 Asus board and a zalman-7000-cu HSF with 1gb Corsair XMS

My question for everyon out there. When I get this thing how will I know that it is truly a 90nm chip they sent me???

Look at the review c627627 posted just a couple posts above. It loses in a lot of tests to 130nm!! BTW it's getting SSE3.

LOL. Every vendor does this. Supply and demand baby I went to buy a so called HOT memory stick talked about in the forums and newegg rose it's price $5 then another $13 while the thread was still going on. Moblie Xp's id the same thing at newegg when they were rollin' hot.

Look at the last two letters(revision code) on the first line.

For s939
AW = 130nm
BI = 90nm

Like I said the "old" 754 3000 is creaming the snazzy new 90nm 939 3000. Mhz wins always which is why a cheap NC 3400 is a better deal than even the expensive 3400 clawhammer or 3500 939. A 3-5% 1mb lvl2 or 3-5% dual channel boost can't come close to matching a 3400's 8% mhz advantage.

Are you saying that a lower clocked 90nm Athlon loses to a higher clocked 130nm model?

That wouldn't surprise me in the least

SSE3 would be nice but I would prefer they get improved SSE2 before (or during, I have nothing against SSE3)

Okay, mine just arrived. I'm still waiting on my Gigabyte motherboard too arrive from a fellow Anandtech'er. We did a trade and he's not even going to get my graphics card until Thursday so I'm not going to be able to give any feedback until mid-late next week at best.
