I was once a huge SuperSoaker whore during my childhood, I was the "Rambo" in my neighborhood, would run around with the best guns and terrorize my friends who would usually end up having to resort to cheating with a garden hose.
Was just thinking the other day how I hardly notice water guns anymore and was curious what happened to the SuperSoakers, it looks like they really dropped off right around the turn of the millennium with the orginal CPS line.
I guess it makes sense, water guns really do make more sense for a younger audience but those original CPS guns were badass and way too big and powerful for your average kid.
I guess the really disappointing part is that they not only dropped off in size/power but they really turned to gimmicky crap, it makes me miss the days of the size and simplicity of the original SS-50 which was just a water gun that shot a shit ton more water much further than your average toy water gun (there were several piston action guns that could shoot a ton of water really far but required so much more strength)
