no but customs and tax regulations may be different... Also, Ati probably runs their business in USD so they cover their asses exchange-rate wise by using an lower-bound value rather than current market price of the CDN dollar... or Ati might just be trying to make a quick $30 a card

It should be noted that the 9600XT is NOT replacing the 9600 PRO. So, assuming the 9600XT debuts at $199, expect the prices of the 9600 NP and PRO to fall. Then again, if ATi does not lower prices on the NP and PRO, the XT could sell closer to the $249 mark. ATi is the only show in town and the Holidays are approaching.
