Unless specifically cutting, most bodybuilders not only don't look very ripped, many could even be called stocky or, by super-skinny folk, fat. You have to eat more calories than you burn to put on muscle, and even if you're religious about eating only the healthiest foods, you still put on at least some fat. Most people aren't religious about it, especially powerlifters, as they're not judged on how low their bf % is when competing. The fat is then amplified because, with all that muscle underneath it, it sticks out more.
