That guy's entire existance is next to useless. He's probably spent the majority of his adult life training to lift as much weight as possible - a wholly fruitless exercise. Now, he's disgusting and deformed.

There is no point whatsoever in lifting that weight other than to say one is able to lift that weight, which we have established is pointless.

What a total and complete waste of time.

This guy's entire existance is next to useless. He's probbably spent the majority of his adult life working some job so he can buy new clothes every month - a wholly fruitless exercise. Now, he cries on the internet when people tell him he looks like a fool.

There is no point whatsoever in being a 'fashionable male' (oxymoron?) other than to say "I'm more fashionable than you!", which we have established is pointless.

not hating on you, just pointing out the obvious oversight in your post.

I disagree. Men, like other animals, strive to attract the opposite sex. Some guys do it with fast cars, some guys do it with money, others do so with their appearence. Improving one's appearence benefits every aspect of one's life. Attractive people are more successful because they're given more opportunities, get more respect, and just generally have an easier time through life.

This guy, on the other hand, has rendered a once useful body into a revolting monstrosity for the sole purpose of lifting as much weight as possible. A position useful for building pyramids.

Ok. I'll leave you alone since I can't argue with that logic. However, I still think popping your collar looks foolish.

Yep, it looks like he is wearing straps for his shoulders (kind of like wrapping your knees when doing heavy squats). When you have to strap your shoulders, you are pushing your body WAY too much (and this is coming from a guys that does 400lbs bench). I've no doubt that steroids are involved in that bench too. The human body will not do ~ 1/2 ton bench without pharmaceutical support, no ifs, ands, or buts. Sh!t, the human body shouldn't even do anywhere close to half a ton, PERIOD!

i beg to differ i use to leg press 850 in multiple sets. wasn't to hard to do.

unless you only mean bench pressing

FWIW I think those shirts add in the vicinity of 50 lbs or so.

Well they add more depending on how experienced the user is bu nothing crazy on it.

Well most sports have 'equipment'. Sprinting has Spiked shoes. Pole Vaulters use to use an metal pole but now a days they have a 'flexible' pole that helps you out but they are still amazing athletes. People wear back supports for shot putters, hammer throwers, javelin and OL.

I wear special OL shoes that are hard at the bottom and don't give in like trainers do in general. Just means that when I drive I get more force to the ground instead of the shoe heel part compressing down on me. I'd lift a bit less with my reguarly shoes or just make it?

Yeah most sports have equipment but I'm not a fan of the BP, squat or dl suits either. BUT if everyone is doing it and your not you will be at a disadvantage. Side note I refuse to wear a belt when train or lift.

Some of the more advanced BP shirts, like the ones with open back that you can get on easier, add 25-30%. I think the BP shirt gives him at least 200 lbs on this one. It takes a lot of experience to utilize one, but I can guanantee that a shirt can add a hell of a lot more than 50 lbs to a guy half that size. I have seen guys that go from 280 to 350 with a shirt - the dude was 5'7" and 165 too. And that was still with a single-ply, closed-back shirt.

Useless? Lmao... Ever acted up at a club? If this guy was the bouncer, he could probably literally "rip your arms from their sockets" or break your arm by hyperextending it as if it was a twig. How many different languages can you say "Uncle" in? Jealosy is a mutha...

Absolutely sick lift... my lift of double my weight last year pales in comparison to this monstrosity...

it's impressive in absolute terms, but i know a guy in montery, ca.
who did > 700 lbs at 220 lb bodyweight, & i saw a guy
weighing less than 150 lbs do a 450 lb BP
(both in drug-tested, judged contests).

3x bodyweight IS impressive.

Good god, I'm under 150 and not even near being close to being able to say I can do near 450 lol. I gotta work on my bench lol, I bet I can do more pullups tho

this is one of the most negative threads I have ever read. this guy has said nothing about the people on this board, yet everyone rips him apart. the point of this thread is that some human just bench pressed almost a half of a ton. That is insane. I would guess that 95% of this messageboard couldn't lift 1,000 in 4 lifts!!

I'd say that 99.9999999999999% of the people criticizing him have never set foot in a gym. And if they have, they were never serious about their workouts. They are the people that come into the gym for their New Years' resolution and are never seen from again after February. I agree the guy is horrible looking, but powerlifters don't go for looks. Power is their number one goal. They usually look like fat guys (like this guy). His arms look REALLY short because of the straps he's wearing. I'm sure if you saw him in public he'd look like a regular fat guy. No, girls don't find this look attractive, but they aren't normally attracted to someone that looks like Ronnie Coleman either.

It's funny, most of the people on this board have a problem with upgraditous (the unrelenting urge to always dump money into their machine to play a GAME). But appanently that doesn't qualify as a useless existance. Right? That's normal?

Ditto. Who is to say what this guy wants to do is any less then a guy upgrading his pc to play the latest and greatest game? Both find what they do 'fun'.

Right. He can impress everyone by making minimum wage as a scary bouncer. What an accomplishment.

I'm sure he can rip my arms off, which is useful if you're Jax from Mortal Kombat.

Just to let you know, a bouncer at a decent club makes anything but minimum wage. At the lowliest clubs around here (on Long Island) a bouncer pulls in $20 an hour, plus they usually get free admission to the clubs and free drinks. That's not to mention tips and whatnot they get on the side. At an upscale club, where a guy like this could be used, you could definitely get quite a bit more.
