Settle down thread starter. You made the right decision in your purchase.

As for people who don't think that More than 60fps is useless. Try this test if you have the equipment. Take an old PC. Play A game like BHD. Online you will notice enemies appearing and than disappearing than A few seconds they come from were you orginally seen them. Now play same game with C2D and NV 8800gtx. Same internet connection. You will notice right away no more Ghost players instead you become the ghost.

This pc with 1950 pro runs average around 170 FPS. With my gaming system I run about 250 FPS. Its a hugh differance in online game play hugh.

As for the differance between AMD and Intel at high res. Its not a big differance until the next generation gpu's come out. Than its a new ball game. All indications are showing Phenom is't going to improve that situation much. So a 1 1/2 year old C2D system will still spank AMD's native Q core . Thats what I call value. Now if you game at low res. Which many do in competition the differances are infact hugh and at A lan event. C2D pawn K8 plan and simple. now limiting the FPS as some games do . Is bad for the industry . If all things are = than NO reason to upgrade. Bad for hardware makers.

I don't know what articles you've been reading, Phenom has been "apparently" been beating C2D outright. It's not even made to compete with it, it's competition is supposed to be the new Intel CPUs.

Well, to be fair, his first response to being schooled in proper grammar and spelling was fairly non-psychotic (although most of you probably didn't see it in the brief time before he changed it). It's completely irrelevant lol, because your monitors refresh rate prolly caps out at 100 or so, making fps above 100 'invisible' so to speak. And most games are GPU limited, so saying C2D pawn K8 plan and simple is a very weird statement, at best, I'd say more leaning towards bullshit. You're obviously a Intel fanboy. Some people can tell the difference between 60 and 70fps, but much above that there simply is no difference, not a difference the human eye can see at least.

Well could you link to those articles were K10 beats C2D in gaming . Good luck at finding such an article. Based on what we have seen so far only . K10 is a litle stronger than K8 2-3% is all. Its not going to improve much even if some members here say it will . When its all said and done I will show those threads and what the over hyping members stated.

One member here yesterday stated that a penryn 3.6 or higher isn't possiable from intel because it would go abovw 125 watts, At the same time he ignored K10 @ 2.6 will be @ 125 watts. So were is the room for K10 to improve on a outdated SOI tech that has hugh leakage problems the smaller the process becomes.

Thats just pure fud by that member. Intel is on a bran new transitor tech. So there is alot of room for improvement. Most would agree . Not all most. AMD is on soi. @ 65 . So AMD has to face up to the fact they either have to leave SOI @45nm or play spin the bottle.

Either way @ 45nm AMD is in trouble . Use soi which is having hugh problems scaling up at 65nm. Or go to Bulk stressed. Which will be a learning process for AMD. Either way AMD is in a world of hurt. Its not the end of the world but intel is hitting on all cylinders.

Its going to be a rough road for AMD. Harder than its ever been. Once Nehalem and Larrabee come out in 08 its not going to get easier.

Wasn't talking about what the human I can see. I was referring to online gameplay or lan events were FPS aren't limited. I am sure I am not only person who has seen Ghosting players that seem to be in 1 place while they are infact in another area. Some call it lag and its not just connection lag. If my PC is sending a single to the server of 250fps. and an enemy is sending 150fps in same area of map the 150 fps player is going to lag to 250fps players machine . There is more than 1 form of lagg. AMD suffers from the form of lagg I just discribed. Badly.

If anything, the OP should be mad that he didn't splurge for a 8800gtx, because unless he wants to play at 1024x768, a dual core cpu is not what he should be worried about.
