980 ti strix memory speed @6610

As the title says i got a wierd issue with my 980ti it goes only till 6610 on memory clock speed and i cant over or underclock it via tweak, it resets to 7200 on the tweak but it doesn't go over 6610 except on tweak startup where it spikes to 7200 once.

Any ideas card is going back. 14 days return policy EU and ordered a new one.

6610 is the memory clock speed for the P02 state - the default state of the card with no drivers controlling it. I have had my 980Ti get stuck in this state when overclocking and my drivers have crashed (and have been unable to recover), and a simple reboot fixes it.

I'm assuming you're seeing it stuck in this state while gaming or running benchmarks? I would recommend downloading Display Driver Uninstaller, letting it restart you into safe mode, and doing the clean and restart. Go download the latest drivers from Nvidia and install them afterward.

I would also recommend using GPU-Z to monitor your card, I played with the latest GPU Tweak and it did some really strange stuff that didn't make sense.

The issue is i did a clean install of windows 8.1 and windows 10 later on. Both the same but i will give it a try.

You might also remove and reseat the card in the PCI-e slot, and remove and reseat the power connectors (on both ends if your power supply is modular)

I can imagine it could be a power issue causing it to force the P02 state, so that would rule out any loose connections or anything like that. Is your power supply at least a 650 watt from a quality brand?

Using a 770 as physx. May that be who "corrupted" the drivers.
Using a ax1200i i don't think it has a issue powering a 980ti and a 770 dc2oc without issues.
I will use ddu and shutdown. Remove the 770 from the rig and reseed the 980ti if it isnt changing anything i will use pcie 2 for the 980 ti (p8p67 deluxe) and check if nothing changes card is going back have 2 more days for this.

Now that I am thinking I had another issue but didn't give it a second thought. The rig didn't recognize my tv even it was plugged via hdmi had to reinsert hdmi. Hmmmm

I have the exact same probleme when I boot my windows it stays 10 sec at the normal clock speed (7200mhz or wathever overclock I may set) and then it jump's directly to 6610mhz and I cant change the memory clock speed anymore. I was thinking maybe it is a windows 10 issue? also wat cpu do you have? do you have a sandy bridge cpu like my i7 2600k that only support pcie 2.0? because I was also thinking that it is maybe because of that. if you finde a fix for that please share it with us
