hey fellow ATers. i need your help. i have a $50 gift certificate for Staples (redeemable online) and i would like one of the AIW cards (i really want the tv tuner with a dvi output). I also do not want to spend more than $100. I am not a gamer (the only games i have are the games that came with winxp). What do you think i should get? I do not mind spending a little over my budget for a good card up the next level, if i could apply the coupons and gift certificate. any suggestions is welcome. thanks!

Who knows but people's orders seem to be going through just fine. Possible PM to Microcenter at Staples on the AIW to get it down to ~288! Too bad they OOS already

Microcenter is a somewhat small chain in Ohio and some other midwest areas. There retail stores are pretty nice and there customer service has been great to me. I had a rebate rejected by Sandisk and Microcenter was nice enough to get me a copy of the receipt to prove the purchase date because I didnt make a copy. My schools email server was down when they tried to email me it and they even gave me a call asking to send it to somewhere else. While Microcenter isnt perfect, I think you can trust them not to scam you or pull bait and switch crap. They may cancel the order however.

Uhm, I've looked around and it seems that the 5900 Ultra is quite a bit better card than the 9800Pro (is this representative? AnandTech BenchMark). Wouldn't the card over in this thread be a better deal? They say it has 2.2ns memory and can overclock past Ultra speeds...

Actually not really. Check out a much more recent bench of the 2 cards. They are very close with the 9800 pro having a slight edge. This is a very hot deal for someone looking for a great price on an amazing card.

I did the deal tonight at the Houston Texas store called the store & they put one on hold. When I went to purchase it they said that they were sorry but the one they were holding for me was for someone else. But they made the deal better when they gave me the 9800 pro AIW for the same price $259.79 out the door. SWEET!!!!

People that are concerned about microcenter's ratings on resellerratings.com should be very concerned about ordering from Circuit City or Best Buy then... CC and BB are rated worse!

I'm saying this if you base your decision solely on resellerratings.
