Well, I bit the bullet and ordered from Microcenter. I tried to PM Staples.com, but they were out of stock. 309.98 shipped is a nice price for an AIW 9800.

Get anything from the AIW 8500 or up. The 9000 is cheap and works well (at least for the 30 days I had one. Returned it because I didn't need it, was just an impulse buy), esp. if you don't game. Read this article:

A MM server seems very cool if you're willing to put forth a little effort. Also why I said to get a 8500 AIW or better, as that's what the article tested on (I'm guessing the new ATI software won't enable the server functionality on anything less, though the article doesn't specifically say otherwise).

I ordered my AIW 9800 Pro from Microcenter last night. I have a straight 9800 Pro that I got from Best Buy. I will be taking that back once the AIW shows up. I am not even going to try to price match the BB price for the 9800 Pro as they claim they do not match internet prices.

Maybe they do, maybe they dont. It isn't worth the hassle to me. The AIW was only $3 more than I paid for the original Pro anyway...

I grabbed one in the Cambridge, MA store (had to walk about 35 minutes each way from the nearest train stop!). The in store price was the same, and they had 6 on hand. (I guess that means there are 5 now...)

Ironically, even though there are only a few stores in the country, I've lived very near two. There is a huge one in St. Davids, PA, which is near Villanova, outside Philadelphia.

I just got a PM from Circuit City for the 9800 Pro. Circuit City had a few of the 9800 Pros left. They gave me 110% difference since the Micro Center local store was within "reasonable distance" to me. 240 - 10% = $216 for a Pro version!!! Many thanks to BBQ and Micro Center for the heads up and the deal.

I just got mine priced match at Compusa. They only checked to see the dates the price was good for and they gave me the price no questions asked.

Many thanks for the heads up BBQ. Went to the Fairfax MicroCenter B&M and got a 9600 Pro AIW for $179 +tax (after $20 MIR). Pretty good deal. For those looking for a cheaper, but pretty reasonable AIW card, they have the 9000 Pro AIW for $116 (after $20 MIR). Not bad when compared to Newegg's $150.
