9800GTX at ZipZoomFly

This seems like a great deal. NewEgg has this for $300 and I haven't seen a 9800GTX card this low.
This card, afaik is a really premium card worthy of $300. At a little over $200 it's a steal right now.
Review

Click on add to cart and it will reduce the price $30. Then $20 rebate
At this price, I'd consider a 3 way! SLI too!

Edit: It's dead now.
Edit 2: It's back with a drastic reduction. $229.99 - $30 when you add to cart, then $20 rebate.

Total price AR $179.99 Seemingly a reaction to the new cards releasing.

If you are looking for a new card, the new ATI radeon 4850 seems to be a better performer for the price. (newegg has it for $169.99 AR
If you want Nvidia or want to SLI this, I think this is the best deal.

2 of these will completely destroy the GTX 280 for less than 2/3 the price... great deal if you have a SLi motherboard.

Can't wait for the next gen stuff to come along, looks like ATI's 4xxx will be sold in mass very soon. Wonder how that stack up to 9800s.

That should definitely have the benefit of lowering other cards' prices down. I can't see myself buying $400+ video cards anymore (GX280 MSRP $649). In this day and age to be able to SLI 2 $200 cards and pretty much smoke a single $400+ card is much better for most people who don't need that bleeding edge. I have learned that for me, replacing 2 $200 cards in 2 years works better then 2 $400 cards for 4 years. It's too frustrating seeing your $500+ video card getting matched or beaten by the low end next gen cards every few months.

Hm, I thought I got a great deal on an 8800 GTS 512MB AR recently from Fry's recently, but it's unopened/returnable and this has me wondering...

This deal is still HOT!
I found this late but to my surprise I just picked up this card for $199.99 plus tax and shipping which gave me the final price of $222.48. Once I send the rebate it it will be another $20 off so.....$179.99 for this card plus shipping and tax is a steal.

deal is average/lukewarm now that the 4850 is out and for $199, some of which have $25 rebates (making it $174)...although I'd wager they'll be snatched up really quick...

yeah you are right. i actually cancelled my order for the 9800gtx and picked up the radeon 4850 which should come to 169.99 after rebate. seems like its beating out the performance of the 9800 gtx in most situations and should be quieter.

lol I know. In 10 years you will build your computer around the video card

The trend seems to be getting bigger and bigger since everyone wants more power and with more power comes more cooling.

There are small cards though and nowadays even built in chips perform pretty well for a non gamer.

Buy the new 4850's over these cards, Benches prove its a better card and has DX 10.1 support. This is not a price mistake, This is NV knowing their in trouble with the ATI HD4xxx series of card. This is the new standard price for the GTX starting now.

I was going to get this to play AOC. Even though AOC works better with Nvidia I'd rather get the 4850. This is still a good deal for anyone with an SLI system but honestly, I would wait a few weeks. Prices will probably keep going down.

actually this card still beats the 4850 in every benchmark i have seen which sells for 180 AR so it is the same price and is worse slightly... now the 4870 will be a different story but I am an nvidia fanboy and this card just looks incredibly I may jump on this deal.

This is true. New pricing for 9800 GTX is $199. Of course you may be able to find them for lower than that after rebates or coupons. Indeed this XFX deal at ZZF isn't the only one available at $180AR. I've already seen (and expect to see again) this pricing with other brands and other retailers.

Even if you don't care for the GTX 280, it was the impetus for these awesome low prices for the 9800 GTX and the Radeon 4850.

I guess I really thank AMD/ATI to introduce 4850 at such great price, lol. I always have been NV customer, but this round, it really hard to decide which one to go for. Decision, decision..

Crazy deal when the OP got it on the boards! Even with the new cards and prices being driven by AMD's price point on the 4850 this was a smoking deal.
