I'd take 9800gtx if they cost the same as 4850 (better cooler + physix ;D) ... but as of now, 4850 is much better deal IMO.
Actually the GTX+ is faster than the 4850 (not by a lot, but still...)

O oh. I'm sure there will be some 4850 fanboys who will refute this. LOL.
Seriously, people should just STOP with all the pissing contests between the 4850 and 9800+ when it comes to benchmarks. There will be games where one card is slightly faster than the other, but they are IN THE SAME LEAGUE!!!
If I were going to get the 9800+ over the 4850, it would be because of these reason (in order of decreasing important
1. the 9800+ runs cooler, quiter... out the box. (and warranty intact)
2. Physx
3. SLI (could be a cheap option to get another 9800+ next year to SLI), and SLI scales better than CF.
4. Step up program (for some)
But I would
wait for the traditional $30 rebate, which could be happening in about 2-3 weeks with the ways prices are dropping! Hell, the 4850 dropped its price the second it hit online retailers!! So wait for the inevitable rebate!!
IMO, the biggest drawbacks for the 4850 (compared to 9800+) is you may have to:
1. tweak with the fan via XML, and/or flash BIOS
2. buy an aftermarket heatsink (many do already)
3. and may void the warranty.
(AMD dropped the ball on the heatsink here)
Framerates between these two cards, as of right now, should NOT be a deciding issue for buyers, unless of course you're thinking about either SLI or CF down the road. But look, my card can piss out 2 more FPS than yours... well whoopittydoo, Gumby!
