9800 pro 128 help ASAP

I need a schematic for a 9800 pro 128. I broke off a part inside the chip area and need to know the value and what kind of part it is. Thanks

I don't think you're going to have much luck finding one. I have yet to see an electrical diagram of a video card.

If you post the exact manufacturer/model number of the card someone might be able to find a picture of one and figure out exactly what got broken off. Or if you have a decent digital camera you could take a closeup pic of the area, use a paint program to circle the damaged section, host the file somewhere and provide us with a link to the pic.

That's about all I can think of to help you. Sorry.

It is a built by ATI 9800 pro 128mb, with the R360 core, here is a link to a pic of the core and I circled what I broke off.

Looks like a small resistor.

Other than that, I have no idea.

If that is right, I can get my meter and get the value an hopefully buy one from an electronic store.

Oofff.. It's one of THOSE resistors. I remember looking at those when I was thinking of hard-modding my 9500 into a 9700. Pic of the size of the resistor Luckily they released the soft-mod before I tried.

If your soldering skills are anything below "Very Good" you're going to have a tough time replacing it. Those SMD resistors are very easily killed by excessive heat so you're going to have to do it quickly.

Weeeeelllll... First of all you need to know what value the resistor is. If somebody can read the printing on theirs you can decode the resistance value from this website.

Jameco is a good supplier of electronic components. Or you could actually try eBay. Once you know the specs you can get a full reel (5000!!) of the things for anywhere from $2.99 to $5.00 + about $4.00 shipping. That way you don't have to worry if you happen to drop one or two.
