zipzoom and jetway have it at 256bit though so I'd guess newegg is wrong ?
but I'd like to see it in writing if I was going to order it from there

Newegg specs are wrong. Look at the box which clearly says 256bit on it. Also it has the "L" shapped 256bit mem interface, not the "inline" 128bit interface like the 9800se

However, you best call the geeks and confirm.

The occasional 6600GT deal is better, but this is solid if you need a card now.

It should have the 256bit memory architecture, it says it on the box in the picture. No rebates is also a good thing.

i just emailed catalog support at newegg to look at their product description and correct if necessary...... darn good buy if in fact it's 256bit

on a side note though, there were some 9800se that had L shaped mem interface..... talk of enabling or modding..... powecolor brand maybe.... too long ago

well now i'm totally confused...... email response from newegg says it's 128 bit...... i emailed them back and told them jetways site has it as 256 bit (as thegorx stated)and that newegg must be in error...... this was last night but still no response this a.m.

guess i'll look for some other model

it wouldn't be the first time newegg had got the specs wrong
it's nice that they have them listed when other stores don't but it's always best to double check

and in this case I guess it doesn't matter what newegg says just what geeks.com has to say if you were going to buy this product

there was a softmod that enables certain 9500 cards with the L shaped memory layout to run at 9500pro speeds. don't remember exactly what the details were, but it worked nicely for me when i installed the card in my desktop a couple of years ago. that was definitely a bargain for its time.

So would it be worth getting that 6800LE to replace my 9500PRO? I don't want to spend to much $$, but I feel now may be a good time to upgrade my AGP card.

I would avoid the 6800LE and get a 6800 for $16x. Spending the extra $30 guarantees that you get 12 pixel pipelines and 5 vertex shaders. But I do think if you're to get a 9800 Pro, you should probably get the 6800LE since it is faster even if it does not unlock.
