Hey all, I have brought a 9800 Pro and it worked fine for weeks. But now it doesn't, i'll explain the problem as best as possible.

I have the catalyst 4.7 drivers installed and it has always worked fine until these problems.

I have my desktop at 85 Hz with a resolution of 1024x768. With some games such as tigerwoods2005 I enter the game and all the introductions are full screen at 60 Hz as far as I know. I get to the menu and it is still full screen. but when i actaully enter a round of golf the resolution stays at 60 Hz which it has always done, but now instead of full screen like it use to be it is now slightly smaller than my desktop and aligns itself to the left. It never use to do this at all before but why now? I have tested it on another monitor and it did the same thing. And also now it also does the same thing when i set the desktop resolution to 60 Hz where as before it you to be full screen like it is a 85 Hz, but it'll flicker a little which is normal.

Does anyone know why this is happening? it doesn't happen with all games but it happens with atleast half of the games I have tried. is there anything wrong with my graphics card?

And also this problem accured just after i tried using the video/out function on my graphics card.

Analog monitors must generally be adjusted once for each combination of resolution and refresh rate. A game menu may additionally be a different resolution (such as 800x640) than selected for play. So configure the desktop for every conceivable combo you will use and adjust to fill each time. Then go to the ATI Displays tab and click on the Monitor button and configure the refresh rate override either to a specific value like 85 or else same as desktop. Just make sure you will never set a game for higher than the monitor is capable of - such as if you normally use 1024 for both desktop and games but then set a game for 1280, yet the monitor is not capable of 85 at that res.

Well like I said it worked fine the way I had it all setup for about 2 months, then all of a sudden it changed.

Oops, I mean 800x600 for game menu previously.

I suppose a CP error is a symptom of a problem that may remain even with a diff'rent version. Make sure to run aticimun.exe to uninstall all ATI schtuff. Then run the latest setup (sans CCC!) and confirm specific monitor is correctly identified too.

Perhaps the Monitor frequency was dropped to match the TV. It should be able to remain at 85 or whatever and at 1024 no scrolling is necessary when cloned to the TV. Make sure the Monitor is Primary and the TV is not extended, then set Overlay Theater mode for videos to play full-screen on the TV.

Well I have reformatted my pc since all this started and still the same result, my video out is not enabled and I have not used in since the reformat of my computer. My refresh hasen't changed, i'll try explain better.

Before I could play a game and during the game my refrsh rate would be at 60Hz and it'll still be full screen and centered.

Now it is at the exaclt same refresh rate of 60Hz but now it isen't full screen and centered.

This problem has accured after the first time I used my TV out.

Sorry if I can't explain it better it's not the easiest problem to explain.
