9800 xt, GeForce 6800 gt, x800 Pro, out of these three cards which one do you recommend. Also I have currently at 9800 xt, is it worth upgrading to one of these cards?

6800gt all the way, 16 pipes with the price of 12 (x800 pro), you can overclock it easy to ultra which is $100 more expensive. Heck, the Gainward Golden sample even pre overclock it for you, with warranty!

However, I will stick with 9800xt. As I usually upgrade every 2 generation. You'll see the difference but for me it's not worth it.
Think of it as getting a car with twin turbo to replace your single turbo car. The twin turbo gives you double the power, but you don't feel it except under extreme circumstances.

My advise. wait until the next generation comes along. You can then either pick the newer card or get 6800gt cheaper

6800GT will perform the best if that's all you want to know.

What are you playing? you might not really need to upgrade.

I play a lot of UT2004 and my 9800Pro serves me great for that.

6800GT. But a 9800 Pro or XT will do really fine for alot of games out right now.

Where would a vanilla 6800 fit in (not a GT or Ultra, just a plain 6800) like the BFG 6800oc which can be had for $250 before shipping at Outpost? Obviously it's below the GT, but would you take it over the Radeon 9800XT?

What resolution do you game at?
Are your games FPS slowing down?

I have a 9800xt also. i play at 10x7 and 11x8 mostly limited by my 19" CRT.

I experience ZERO slowdowns in ANY (new or old) game with all details MAX and ON with AF and even some AA. . . . it would be a WASTE for ME to upgrade now as it is UNnecesary . . . . besides, the NEXT GEN of videocards are less than 6 months away - the current gen will be cheap then.

IF and WHEN i upgrade, it will (probably) be the 6800GT (best bang for buck card - curently).

ABSOLUTELY not! (but then that's just me)

Well, i'd "take" it, but i wouldn't pay to upgrade. The performance increase is rather minimal (+12-25% and - in a few cases - the 6800 is held back by its rather minimal 128MB video RAM

I'd grab a Sapphire X800 Pro VIVO that has 1.6ns GDDR3 and soft-mod it to a 16-pipe X800 XT PE just like i and thousands others did and then you'll have the fastest consumer-level videocard on the planet.

If you play OpenGl games mostly than I'd choose the GeForce 6800 GT and overclock it to Ultra levels.

If you play mainly Direct3D games then the Sapphire X800 Pro VIVO is the way to go.
