9800pro buy now or later?

I want to buy sapphire radeon 9800pro 128mb OEM from newegg, but seeing how TX is just around the corner would it be better of to wait till it's out so the price drops?

What do you think?

Last I heard they have been taken off the market... not suprising really since they were ridiculously easy to mod to pro levels at a much lower cost.

It's so friggin dumb, that ATI takes stuff off the market for that reason, think bout the 1700+, 2100+, 2500+ processors by AMD insanly overclockable and were never taken off the market...

Yeah, but I'm a sucker for a good deal. I bought a 9800np from newegg last week so that I could flash it up to a Pro. I could have waited to see what the new ATI cards are like and price drops, but now that the 9800np's aren't around, I'm really happy about it (at least until the new ATI cards are out and the prices have dropped!). Sometimes it is better to get the deal while its hot rather than wait until you need it.

I was just at CompUSA yesterday looking at vidcards and they still had the BBA 9800np's still there.

I just saw ATi's Radeon 9800 for $250 and 9800 Pro for $300 at Circuit City today. $300 for the current top of the line video card (aside from the 256MB version) ain't half bad
