Bought a Gamecube and Mario Sunshine from a seller here. I wish this deal came around a couple of days ago so I could have jumped on this one instead. I'm only partly impressed with Mario Sunshine so far. It doesn't fo it for me like Mario64 did but it's still very cool!

Can somebody please give us more detail on this, like how long this deal is good for? I have four tests this week, so there's no way in hell I'm going to buy it until I take them all hehe. I'll be getting one Friday morning if this deal is legit, hope they still have some copies of Starfox by then.

no. as long as you ever intend to buy another videogame after making this purchase, it is essentially a $99 gamecube.

No because you're buying a game and a memory card. (min. $30 + $15 = $45 + $150 for system = $195 for the bundle) The coupon you get could probably be used to buy anthing.

I called my local EB. The guy said that the promotion doesn't start until October 1st. Dunno what's up with that, as someone posted that they already got the deal.

Tell them to check the Sept. 19 directive. It started the 23rd of september and goes until late October

Wait a minute..... how did this dude get 99 bucks???

Cause system is 150, card is like 15, and game is 30... thats around 200 bucks..... now if you delude yourself and think of the voucher as a coupon, you still come down to 150 (200-50VC). How does that work out to 99????

I still don't know how you get a "$99 Gamecube."

Flugal, if I give you $99, will you give me a new Gamecube?

That makes the net cost on the system $99!!

He said net cost was $99 in his first post.

Right, think of it this way

Gamecube - $150
Mem card - ?
Game - $29.99 or more

Using your gift voucher, whether it be applied to the Cube itself, or for the game, saves you $50.

Hence, if you think of the voucher being used on the Cube by itself, then yes, the Cube is only $100

However the combo is still well over $200

Make sense now? Yes, the combo is over $200 but within that combo the Cube is still $150, so $50 off the combo could be worded as $50 off the Cube alone.

The way I see it, I'm going to buy a Cube, Mario, and the memory card and get a free copy of Starfox.

One of the clerks I spoke with the other day said they will be getting Gamecube bundles with Starfox in sometime THIS WEEK, so maybe you can try to get them to give you the voucher with the purchase of the bundle and save $10 or so on the game you buy (if you purchase two games)

Wow, long winded post...heh

I just spoke with the manager in Lexington. He said the info on the promo showed up on everyone's email this morning. However, he hadn't received his gift vouchers yet and was going to have to keep a list of interested customers and call them back when they came in.

I got in on this today, when I walked into EB there were some Gamecubes with flyers on them that said "$99.99 Gamecube".

The basics of it are buy a console, memory card and a game over 29.99. I asked the guy there and the game according to what information he had has to be new, not a used game. Then they give you a $50 rebate coupon to mail into EB with the ORGINAL reciept. So i guess no returns. They then mail you a $50 gift voucher for anything in the store. I will probably use mine for GTA Vice City.

I also noticed they had another promotion going on. You trade in any 5 PS2, Gamecube of Xbox games and you get a $100 store credit. I was wondering if I bought 5 9.99 used games could I then turnaround and trade them in for the $100. Well I don;t know I didn;t try it or ask, but its a thought.

Buy 5 games at 9.99 = $50 roundabout

get $100 store credit.

then buy a gamecube, mem card and $30 game = $150 + $20 + $30 - $100(store credit) = $100

get the $50 voucher in the mail.

basically you spend $50 to get $100, $100 for cube and you end up with another $50 at the end.

all spent $150, you get a console, game, mem card and a $50 voucher.

in short no. they dont take any game and most the 9.99 games are either greatest hits by now or just old sports games..and they wont take those
as part of the 5 for 100 promo

on another note
sounds like a good deal though..even though i was fooled by the title hoping to run there and get 1 for 99 bucks and mario guess ill have to wait
maybe when nintendo releases that mario bundle

Jeez, people here sure are cranky. So you took an extra 2 minutes to read this post. Big deal, get over it and move on.

Awesome deal anyhow. Been looking for GCN deals. Don't listen to the old crankers.

picked up one on friday. The lousy EB's here didn't have the voucher coupon, so the clerk said I either had to get the voucher from the website (which doesn't exist on there) or come back into the store next week when they "should" have the vouchers. It sucks to have to make another trip back there, but it is for $50.

I got Starfox, which so far is fairly fun. Has some amazing graphics, but sometimes the kiddie factor and common platform game woes (camera problems, repetative jumping puzzles, etc) annoy me.

All I got to say is bring on Metroid damnit

its more like "buy $250 of stuff, get $50 off"
since you have to get a cube, a mem card, and at least a $30 game, then you get the $50 gift card and spend it on something for $50.

Much to my dismay I stubled across this page at EB - Create-a-bundle

Apparently this deal IS good online, and now that I've seen this I am extremely pissed because I was raped by taxes and the store's extra mark up. If you need the bundle coupon, that can be found here - $50 voucher

Anyway, buying online is a much better choice and i regret not seeing this sooner

Regarding the trade in deal of 5 PS2/GC/XBox games for $100 coupon, EB has a HUGE list of excluded games. Only games that qualify are the ones that they can resell with a mark up price of $29.99 or more. Which means you'll have to trade in newer games to get that deal. And they do not accept duplicates during the transaction.
