I have always wondered why people say using a card reader saves wear/tear on your camera. When i take my CF card out i have to open the access door and try to eject CF card which most of the time is a pain to grasp then i have to put it in the card reader and then when im done do the same thing to put it in. How is that saving wear/tear on your camera rather than just pugging in a USB cable to the camera?

You'd have to ask someone who made the claim. It might also depend on the camera, for example how flimsy it's card hatch is.
In general though, all of them have a surface-mount mUSB socket that is relatively fragile. My cam has media slot inside same hatch that's used for the batteries so when I swap out batteries, I swap in a different flash card too.

honestly, cheap card readers just aren't worth it. I've bought 3 or 4 of these no name sub $15 card readers and had nothing but bad luck, corrupted data, broken drives, ect. I bought one good one and tada...no problems
