So guys... based on what we know so far would the Note 4 be a better bet?
A Note 4 GPE would be amazing.
Note 4 is nice, just not sure how I feel about touchwiz and samsung at the moment.
If one could root, theoretically you could remove touchwiz entirely. Don't know if you would lose anything significant. have to research this.
Exactly how I feelImDonly1 said:A Note 4 GPE would be amazing.

The anandtech review is up, and ghee nexus 6 has worse battery life than the 5? How is that even possible?
Yes, they increased the battery capacity significantly, and somehow managed to end up with worse battery life and worse CPU performance too.
What a disappointment. If this is Google's idea of flagship, Apple have nothing to worry about.
I am not so certain. All the reviews I have read put it way below the Note 4 when it comes to battery life. The Note 4's screen is slightly smaller, but it runs TouchWiz that sits in RAM all the time. And the Nexus 6 is supposedly running more battery efficient OS than previous "pure" Android even without TouchWiz. (project Volta?)So if battery life is the only concern that's nothing software can't correct. Lollipop is suppose to improve it but lately there was a bug. My m7 with a custom Rom gets about 10 hours or more with heavy use.
I am really interested to test this out myself, because honestly I don't trust AT's battery life reviews. Wasn't there some crazy wifi battery drain bug which delayed 5.0's launch? Even forgetting that, 9 hours screen on time with the Nexus 5? Is that a joke? Unfortunately AT is not very transparent at all when it comes to their reviews so we don't know a lot important facts regarding their testing methods. It's odd that they rushed out their Nexus 6 review while it's still in the pre-order phase, when they usually like to take their time with other products (to provide a more in depth and accurate review).
It's not just AT - most reviews I've read have found battery life to be somewhere between not great and OK. I don't think I've seen a single review where it's gotten good battery life (Note 4 level).
Now after some updates, I'd expect it to be a good deal better than the Nexus 5 but I'm not expecting a dramatic increase that suddenly gets it to a completely different tier.
The math simply doesn't add up for the N5 to have better battery life than the N6. I think it's clear software issues are at play here, but other reviewers have mentioned that it's still better than the N5... But not according to AT.
