Yah. What are they? I thought Amazon's Fire phone had something like those.

Hmm chatted with moto support again and looks like they have no idea when they will get any more stock of the 64gb models. They told me it would ship this Monday, it did not and today they told me they are aware of my order that it's open and confirmed and have none in stock. I MAY get my phone by xmas since they said they have nothing. I'm amazed how they can't even tell me the initial problem.

Before they used to tell me it's ready to ship now my order is open and confirmed ? Wtf does that mean.

I ordered two Blue 32gb phones from in-store on the 21st. Got no notifications or emails (after the initial order)... They showed up today. *shrug*

Yea I could order online at T-Mobile with a prepaid plan then cancel the plan but I don't want a blue model.

Do the Moto X 2014 and Nexus 6 both offer Qi wireless charging?
The Nexus 6 does, but the Moto X does not.

People are reporting some difficulties with certain chargers with the N6. Chargers like the TYLT and the LG 700 work great, but some are saying they can't find the charging spot with the old Nexus brand charger.

Btw, I freakin' love this phone! The only reason I couldn't recommend it to someone, is if they weren't comfortable with the size (or absolutely needed waterproofing, removable battery, or SD card.)

It's a fantastic device, but the size is certainly not for everyone.

Are you using it one handed? I feel like when I had the one plus I always used both hands. How is the screen any yellow?

My screen isn't yellow at all. It looks fantastic. I use it one handed unless I'm typing. I came from a Note so the size hasn't been an issue. Its big, but I really like it.

I am tempted to get the 6. I have a 5 and there isn't anything wrong with it other than crappy speakers, so I'm not sure. The speakers, the quick charge and the display are supposedly all pretty awesome. Plus, you get 6 months of All Access and the 50 Play Store credit, so it's a pretty decent deal. I'm just not really sure it's worth the money though. If I had a 4, probably would have already bought the 6 though.

Nah, it's not yellow at all. And no, I don't use it one handed. But, I have never really used any phone one handed, so I'm not the person to give any insight about that.

There are a gazillion users around the Web saying that they see no image retention. Myself, included.

The Nexus 6 AMOLED panel is not a new invention. Any screen can be subject to image retention if you really try.

Image retention and burn-in are completely different issues that only appear similar.

I had the same thing on my Galaxy Nexus. It wasn't that big of an issue. You really have to go look for it in order to let it bother you.

And which definition would you use, considering what you saw in her video?

Quote from wiki:
Image persistence, or image retention, is the LCD and plasma display equivalent of screen burn. Unlike screen burn, however, the effects are usually temporary. Plasma displays can also suffer from burn-in.

I wouldn't call it an equivalent, since in one case the pixels get "lazy", but can be "woken up" in other case is the permanent effect of reduced luminescence, it looks the same at first glance.

Samsung screwing their customers/partners by selling them inferior products compared to their own? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you

It's a shame, really. The Nexus 6 is like the perfect phone for me. But I'll wait to see what MWC has to offer.

I do not understand how Samsung is to blame here. There are Motorola and Google way before Samsung is to be entered into the calculus.

Sony makes camera lenses for everyone but no one gives it credits for camera performances on smartphones. LG made the first "Retina" display for iPhone 4 but I do not think many people even knew about it at the time. Samsung likewise makes chips that goes into iPhones and iPads. It does not get credit for A7/A8. I have only recently learned that Foxconn is making the new panels for Apple - through Foxconn's self-promoting news that sounded very much political posturing.

Google is first and foremost responsible for the Nexus devices. The next up is whoever got the contracts. Sub-contractors are further down in line of command.

Oh, I know the difference. And you are correct, they are not the same.

But I think she is wrong calling it "burn-in". But, you get more hits with that term, so...

The difference is, unlike everything you mentioned, we have the same AMOLED with the same resolution going into both the latest smartphones from Samsung and Motorola/Google. While there are ODMs, they usually do not compete head on with their partners in that particular aspect. LG does not make the exact same screen for its partners and its own products. Neither does SONY. SONY makes a 20mp sensor for itself whereas its partners get the 13mp variety. In the case of the Note 4 and Nexus 6, both have the latest resolution so many will assume that they come from the same factory. The retail costs are certainly similar enough for consumers to demand equality but that's not what we're seeing here.
