Rogue One Alternate Ending: Vader force grips guy with plans and slams him into a side wall while simultaneously pulling the plans to himself. Rebels have no plans, Death Star remains active, main Rebel Base is vaporized at Yavin 4. RIP Star Wars 4-7.
Saw it last night in 3D. The only other movie I've seen in 3D was The Force Awakens. I said to myself back then I'd never watch another 3D movie but I did and it still sucked. I hate the forced depth of field and a lot of this movie was really dark with the glasses on. I plan to rewatch it in 2D.
I saw Rogue One in 3D & it was a complete waste - not only were there no good "pop out" 3D parts, but it made the entire movie dark (dim), which I wasn't very happy about.
That is probably unlikely. It was not solely at Tarkin's discretion. He received approval from Sidious to use the Death Star to destroy one planet to send a message to the other systems of what awaited them if they rebelled. Sidious would likely have not gone overboard, rubber stamping use of the Death Star over and over again without sufficient reason for doing so would likely only vindicate the rebels. Sidious envisioned the Death Star as the kind of weapon you only need to fire once. It does its job merely by existing after that, a job undone by the rebels destroying it.Yeah I over-reached a bit there but the Death Star would have gone about its merry way blowing stuff up left and right at Tarkin's whim.
How is it that two Star Destroyers can't take on the Rebel fleet but Vader's ship can just jump in and insta-gib almost every rebel vessel in its path? I get that he would have creme of the crop as far as personnel but its like the other two ships didn't even put up a fight.

I must say, the magnitude of the cuts are staggering. I dislike how Jyn has kind of a spunky, cocky personality in the trailers but has a really bland seemingly Keanu Reeves placeholder type character in the finished product. I hope to god we get an extended cut next year with all these scenes included. If more character moments are included, even more so.

A couple of us in here expressed how dark the movie was in 2D at points, so 3D must have been atrocious with the shades on.
