I'm sure I can print one off the net, so I guess it's not a big deal. If I can get 12% off on a HD2900XT I think I'll do that.

So what's the process of customer fulfillment? I walk into BB, ask if I can get customer fulfillment on a HD2900XT (or 8800GTS), give them my coupon, pay for it there and then they ship it to me?

Are you a Reward Zone member? I get the coupons all the time, a few days ago I got the one for 12% off June 22-25.

I'm wondering what exactly customer fulfillment is like as well. If my BB can order me one, I think I'm going to pick up the HD 2900XT this weekend.

I'm a reward zone member and I have a credit card open with them.

I verified that my reward zone account info has the correct mailing address and I get bills for my CC in the mail so i dont know what the hell the problem is.

Yup, that's exactly how it works. They print up two pieces of paper for you, you take them up to the register, they ring it up, you give them coupon, then pay and within a week you have your cards delivered by UPS.

Do you go to the Customer Service desk to ask first?

Sorry I didn't mention it earlier -

When I ordered mine, the first thing I did was look for the card on the shelf and couldn't find it: only the 8600.

So I asked a floor salesman and he said they didn't stock it and he checked all other stores and none of them carried it either.

So I showed him the deal that I had written down and he checked his computer. But all he could find was one for about $399. He asked me when I saw it?

I said on the Internet at BestBuy.com just last night. So he finally went to the website and he found it but it was on backorder.

So I asked him if he could still order it for me through BestBuy.com if I paid him the cash. He said no but I could buy a gift card. So I bought a gift card right there and then for $350 (because of tax.) He then used the gift card number to pay for the purchase online and it's being shipped to me. I should get it the first or second week in July. Free shipping, too.

He also told me that I had 30 days, not 15 days, to return it if it didn't work out. And he said that if I did return it I could just return it to the store.

So, yes you can.

i was in BB yesterday ... no cards faster than the x1950p or the 8600 series on display/for sale in B&M BB.

i bought the $320 HD2900xt from Best Buy last and i am also ordering this one today

i can bring ONE of them back - or both if i choose - within 30 days with no restocking fee to any B&M store ... and i may pick up a GTX instead - or not

Keysplayer and i are doing the 8800GTS-640M vs HD2900xt "face off" pretty soon .... we both have Vista and XP and will also both have XT and GTS to test ... hopefully i will get my ackordered GTS in time

check out our ATF Video *battle* of the GPUs here:

This is why i somewhat regret not considering the HD 2900 XT more.

Bear in mind benchmarks don't always tell the whole story sadly.

Plenty of problems for the HD2900

so much love for nvidia but still can't see how they are screwing you over. ATI has its problem your correct.

At least ATI driver are stable in board range of games from ... nvidia driver have great performance in new games but go back old games its a totally different story from glitches and to crashes. same story goes with horrible SLI support and no existent DX10 SLI support.

You won't see an 8800GTX for $250.00 for a few years. If ever. And that would be used. It will eventually get there though.

I can get this card for the same price online at newegg because of the tax you are charged at bestbuy.com that way you can decide the brand you want.
The card is $409 at Newegg. At Bestbuy it's $338 after tax. You're still saving over $70.

$350 at newegg

You may never see a 8800 GTX at $250. By the time it has a chance to go down to $250 their will be a faster nvidia card for only $50 more or less.

from nvidia Forceware 158.24 release notes:

DirectX 10 NVIDIA SLI support for GeForce 8 series GPUs is available in v158.43 Beta drivers.

If you're going to sing the same old song, at least get the words right.

Yes they're beta drivers, but I would hardly call that "no existant".

Wanted to check back so your's seems like an appropriate post to reply to doing so.

I waited long enough for my backordered BFG 8800 GTS OC2 640MB graphics card so I canceled my order. I got it from ZipZoomFly pronto in 2 days for $415 + tax.

Got the same model exactly and it works great and looks great on my LG 24". I replaced my X1950 Pro 512MB because this one was only DirectX 9 and had half as many processors and only 256 bit vs 320 bit bus with half the bandwidth. Besides, this ATI card is the bottom of the barrel, the low-end recommended graphics card today with no cushion or headroom. When a game comes out utilizing the latest standards the X1950 Pro will simply be unable to handle it. 'nough said.

This OC2 640MB model is about as good as the low end GTX.

Did any of you backorder this from BB and did you ever get it?

Did you know that BB is not obligated to fulfill any backordered item?

On their customer service website it specifically mentions that customer service can help you with backorders older than 12 months!!!

Twobuck40, what time did you receive shipping notice today, and what time of the day on the 21st did you order?

just got notice that it shipped today.

Wow, more than a MONTH to ship. That's just sad. WorstBuy just sucks like gravity.

Though...I am envious of you that got in on this deal. A month has passed and NVidia is still the only game on the block for enthusiast/gamer cards; ergo their cards are still priced way too rich for my wallet. I'd have jumped on this deal if I saw it sooner, though.

Hope you get your card and it's a winner for you.

I grabbed the next BFG down for ~$331 a few days ago. It's not like the OCed versions are anything special, most GTSs will hit that clockspeed pretty easily. It was still cheaper than getting a stock EVGA model by about $50 and will be here by friday.

The OC models may not be anything special, but a 80mhz increase is still a bit of a performance increase, as well as the memory increase on the OC's that have them. While it might not be noticeable in most cases, and sure you can run your non-OC card as fast as my OC card (if i ever receive it lol), but I have that extra performance without voiding my warranty. For you to achieve that, you would be voiding your warranty, so its up to you to risk it if BFG is able to figure out that you did if they service your card.

Not to mention my card cost $333 total after tax, with free shipping, and I used $175 in gift cards, so I'll be getting my card for $159.

Thats what we call a steal, ladies and gentlemen...

any new shipping notifications from today?

It is a great deal. Every time I'm surfing the Hot Deals forum and I see the topic I'm always like "!!!", then I realize it's always the same dead deal.
