A complaint about dell!!!

Well after all my bitching and whining, I emailed my sales rep, and assuming he got it(never responded) had him remove the built in nic
and I come home tonight and check- and according to their website and phone support-(recording)- It is assembled and ready to ship.

So hopefully i get by monday or tuesday.

My apologies that everyone had to listen to me complaining.

Lets hope this beast of a machine(see kreed in sys profile for more info) is well worth it.

Well being I work for Dell and I work in the returns area I will say this. Though I have some times been skeptical about quality on a few products I will say that Dell is a very customer oriented company. You can be assured that you will get your laptop as soon as they can get it to you. Oh and If you bought an Inspiron 4000 or 8000 the nics are not pcmcia cards. They are built directly into the system and are not replacable. Oh and you should know that I work in the returns/refurb area so I can understand why they dont want you to install yourself. In most cases it would lead to the system being screwed up in one way or another. All of the small parts that have to be removed to get at anything would confuse average computer users so and unfortunately there are more of them than there are above average users. If a laptop is returned because Dell let someone add or replace something and that person screws up than who do you think has to fix it? Not the customer! Also if a system that is that messed up is returned it is a damn b!tch to receive all of the peices and parts and I would be a very unhappy camper.

Anyways just wait for it. It will come and you will be happy1!(I hope. Cause I wouldnt want to have to receive your system with "Dell is Hell" writen all over it).

speakin of dell inspiron 8000s....

i just saw my g/f's uncle's and i have to say that the Ultra XGA screen is bad ass...

i always hated laptop screens cuz they were shiny and not very clear but this one is crisp as hell... came from factory w/ 1600x1200 resolution... and not shiny, very pleasing to the eyes

Spoke with dell today- and apparently it shipped last night- next day- ups- with the Included nic card.
