Ft. Knox regularly has games & electronics on clearance...never the computer stuff :disgust: ...and yes, it's all too expensive for *ick* HP equipment. Buy from Newegg, cheaper.

I buy food/pet stuff, those are definitely cheaper!

I agree 100% with you. Expendables like pet food, alcoholic beverages, fuel, etc. are definetly cheaper at the base. Electronics are always overpriced. The only real hot deal I ever got from the base was a brand new '95 Yellow Mustang GT for $5,000 under the dealer's cost.

AAFES will price match any published price and no sales tax. So if your state has high sales tax, buying a high ticket elctronics item on post can save you a good chunk of change. At XMAS I got the 27" Samsung HDTV for $424 out the door with it on sale plus a 15% coupon. Everyone outside has it for $700-$800.

Yeah, the electronics section is pretty pathetic in most AAFES & Exchanges. Thankfully, they've always been awesome when I wanted to price-match.
Ya' gotta' love that "Mystery Shopper" program that keeps the employees nice & helpful.
Unfortunately, my base is small so we don't really have an electronics department. However, our liquor store is bigger than the food & clothing section combined!! Gotta' love the Navy!

Go to the dell part of it. They have been to make a few price mistakes and not updating promotions soooooo sometimes u might get an instant 200 off and your order date might fall in a 200MIR rebate or other rebates. YMMV but i check it frequently

From what I have heard don't quote me on this is that inactive duty and people in the delayed entry program can also shop there. You just have to bring the papers that you signed when joining or the id card you have.

I haven't shopped at the BX in a while for big purchases, probaly becasue of their bad selection and outdated pricing. I once tried to get the mto pricematch a reciever that was $150 cheaper at AAFES.com. I didn't want to wait for shipping since the local store had it in stock. They refused. Said they don't match AAFES.com since they consider it a different entity.

Overseas AAFES had a strong hold, but stateside they can't compete.
