True story, just in time for Halloween.
I live in a rural neighborhood amongst rednecks. Most of my neighbors are awesome. Some of them suck & like to litter up the road. As a result, most Saturdays I spend a little time picking up trash along our shared road.
This Saturday I noticed a large white trash bag way out in a woodsy section along the road, and assumed that the wind had blown it there. I went over to pick it up, and it was really heavy. The top of the bag wasn't closed real tight, so I looked inside... it was full of fresh-looking meat & bones. Right away it gave me a weird feeling. I've seen the locals throw out all sorts of really bizarre things on the side of the road, and therefore went ahead and dragged it to my truck, then off to the dump.
So consider the facts: someone intentionally parked their vehicle on the side of the road, then threw the bag of meat as far as possible into a secluded woodsy area where I guess they were hoping it wouldn't be found.
I've been a little creeped out ever since. I can't say for sure that I didn't just help dispose of a body. Realistically my best guess is that someone poached a deer, butchered it, then got rid of the evidence.
I have to confess that as I was driving to the dump on Saturday, I passed a parked Sheriff's vehicle; I very nearly stopped and showed it to him.
