It's not even a setting since you aren't allowed to turn it off. Presidential Alerts are flat-out required.Heh - maybe Obama will use the Presidential Alert to broadcast an appropriate send-off message on his last day in office. iOS doesn't have that setting, just Amber Alerts and Emergency Alerts.

That said, Presidential alerts are basically a polite heads up that Armageddon is starting and you should say your good-byes. You can't block them, and in turn they're only used for the gravest national emergencies.
The only place I ever really see amber alerts is on Facebook or local news/weather. I have notifications for that turned off on my phone.
I think I recall seeing an actual option somewhere for "emergency alerts" or something like that and I turned it all on just because I was curious what would come in on it, and never had one come in. Is it like a text?
I think the proper response would be to look under the table and announce, "well, she ain't here".
What happens if you disable the stock messenging app on Sprint? Do you still get them? For Android on Verizon (HTC One M8) there's an app pre-installed for it called Emergency Alerts. T-Mobile looks like it's the same way. I believe Sprint buries theirs in your default messaging app's settings.
