A dine-inside Sonic. BLASPHEMY!!!!

I'm driving around tonight and I see a dine-inside Sonic. It has a drive-thru and an inside seating area. What the heck?!

The TV commercials always show people in their car talking about Sonic stuff... which makes sense because they bring it out to your car and you either eat it there or take it home. There's usually a sit-down area for walk-up customers but it is usually outdoors and there are usually no non-menu/order station parking spaces.

cant blame you, i dont much care for the place. the onion rings are ok, and the grape slushies are refreshing in the winter, but most stuff is just average for fast food.

Sonic is just doing what it needs to increase sales. It doesn't matter what the business is about, they will do whatever they can to make money. If that is indoor seating, they'll do it.

I saw on modern marvels how the burger chains are working on making totally automated drive through. Outside you drive through like normal, only the person you are talking to can be hundreds of miles away. Inside machines process the order. You pay like the self checkout at stores. It allows them to build a place that is almost kiosk like beside a road and serve food.

I think we've got two here in Charlotte. But they've been around for quite a few years. The two that we have are really close to hotel areas so I suppose they build them where they think they might get a large amount of foot traffic.

i live in Colorado and never seen a dine in sonic.

depends where in MO, they are in the KC area.

I don't like to eat inside my car. The local Sonic here has inside dining too and most customers prefer to eat inside of Sonic, there are always a few who stay inside their cars. It's America, and in America, you have choices.
