here's the only picture i drew before that... i drew this picture about 3 years prior to the one i posted earlier (so about 2001ish). i gave it to my dad for his birthday (our birthday... we share the same birthday). excuse the crappy quality... it actually looks a lot better scanned or in real life, but at the time i had no scanner and only had my trusty webcam.

These are things I've sketched (in ink as you like to point out) during meetings at work. Still have actual pictures which I spent as much time on as you probably did with your stuff that I can show you...

Okay, I misunderstood what you were saying about the dozens of poses.
But I disagree with what you say about memorizing poses. Look at the last link I posted. There's a picture in there of Wolverine looking up at the sky. I drew that without having ever drawn wolverine or any other person/character in that pose before.
it's like this. FIrst you learn the basics. Profile, Front, back. Then the little adjustments. Looking up/down, left right. Forshortening, perspective. It's all in memory. Memory helps. And the best artists have action figures when they sketch to help them. I read that. Everyone sketches the same way. If you don't use memory, then your Wolverine is just some male figure in Wolverines clothing. The anatomy isn't right. Sit down and learn Wolverines clothing, muscles, hair, etc, who knows it will rock. Take your time. Use pencils then ink it. I'd like to see it.

Dude, he'll never do it. After seeing his posts I'm convinced that he just says whatever facetious crap to try to rile people up. He knows his drawings suck, and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't draw them himself, just found crappy pictures for this shens post. I'm not saying I believe that is the case, but wouldn't be surprised if it were.

In the real world, I have a job doing this stuff and you don't. So shut it. If you had any idea about this stuff you'd know that using filters and converting from raster to vector is a world of difference unless the picture is SOLELY for on-screen usage. You'd also know that it takes a degree of skill to do detailed drawings in vector and that when you can do them, it shows a great deal of achievement over chumps who use a series of filters for lame-ass effects. But you wouldn't know anything about that.
