A few questions about fruit trees and grass.

First question - how do I get my granny apple tree to produce more and better fruits? I get these small apples, which are quite delicious, but I like to have more of them in consistent number. What do I need to feed it?

Second question - I have two avocado trees as well, and they're quite tall, as tall as the roof of my 2-story house. My cousin said that I need to trim the top so they're not as tall. What is the conventional wisdom on avocado trees' height?

Third question - Grass. We don't have enough water in California, and I'd like to have a lush green lawn. What type of grass would give me a good comfortable feel but doesn't require a lot of water? Am I asking for too much here?

I have just the one, it lives between a lemon tree, and an avocado tree.

There's no magic fix for this that replaces water. Apples are high water content. Do you have gutters and a water collection system? That would give you a little more without violating any water rationing mandates. Well, that would end up on parts of the lawn anyway unless you're on enough of a slope that rain runs off, but you could direct more towards the trees.

Apple trees especially need potassium and calcium, moderate nitrogen that your lawn needs to be lush too, but the amounts depend on the existing state of the soil. I wouldn't bother fertilizing till you can give it more water.

You might need to prune the apple tree also. Look it up online. I have a general notion of how to prune fruit trees, but not enough to tell someone else. A properly pruned tree will give better fruit.
