I'll give you a hint, Miami and NYC didn't exist a few millions years ago, and may not in 100 years. That is why it is "catastrophic." Not to mention there will be roughly 10B people to feed and house as land becomes less suitable. I don't think any one thinks we are going to go the way of Venus.[/QUOTE]

Actually, very very long term, the answer is Yes.

Actually no. Venus is very hot, and in the long run Earth will get very cold first. It would be more accurate to say that the Earth will become cold like Mars. What makes Earth warm now is that it has an atmosphere while Mars does not really have one anymore. Earth has one because it has a molten core that generates a magnetic field that deflects solar winds which would normally blow away gasses around our planet. Earth being larger than Mars has more mas relative to its surface area meaning it has been able to retain more heat and thus its molten core has lasted longer. Eventually the Earth will cool and lose its field, losing its atmosphere, and become cold like Mars.

Eventually the Sun will expand as it dies and Earth will get very hot again and then eventually be eaten by the Sun before it collapses.

The Earths core won’t cool and solidify before the sun goes red giant. Thanks to the insulating properties of the mantle and crust combined with the continued heat of radioactive decay the core has cooled about 55 degrees K per billion years.

At a current temperature of 5000-6000K the outer core has a looong time before the iron solidifies.

Holy crap, there is a ton more information than I remember. The Sun may not even engulf the Earth as it loses mass and the orbit radius increases.

Looks like I have some research this weekend.

I can imagine us getting to such detailed specificity at some point in the future, but we're probably talking generations. In the meantime they're working on making it taste... reasonable. Or rather... indistinguishable in the ground up and processed variety. If it's safe, healthy, and tasty it'll be all the rage for high tech "farming".

Then they will just have to figure out how to deal with or mitigate the cow farts, at least for my lifetime. I don't give a damn after that.

With the decrease in liveable surface area I am afraid that cow beef has to go... On the other hand there will be plenty of human beef around so.... make the switch how hard can it be..

If we look back hundreds of thousands or even millions of years ago, we find far higher temperatures and far higher CO2 levels. Not even close to today. What is different about today's CO2/temp increases compared with these even higher numbers many times in our planet's past? I want to understand why our observations today lead to words like "irreversible, catastrophic, point of no return", when I am unaware of how even higher levels of CO2/temps have led to none of these. Like yourself, I'm open to being wrong and open to new data/viewpoints.

Well the earth will be perfectly fine, that isn't the issue. The issue is that a very large portion, if not a majority, of our large cities and populations are on the coasts. Coasts that will be flooded with the projected sea level increases, some will flood much sooner than others. Some places are already taking rather expensive measures to combat rising sea levels.

Yup

Miami Beach now floods from King Tides each year and is spending half a billion on dealing with it.

Bwahaha, the recent MAGASCOTUS rulings must be part of that "obsolete" theory of yours. Keep reaching bro, I'd suggest that once you can hit a 515lb squat like I can, you've actually achieved something in life. Or even had children. Until then, you're just a hot air balloon waiting to be popped by Trumpism.

Found you on youtube

Anything that can pull carbon out of the atmosphere can make room for cow farts.

Hey, I'm with anything to bring greenhouse gasses down. Anything except taking away my juicy steaks and burgers that is, a man has to have a line in the sand.

There is no doubt "global warming" is real as we've been warming since the Little Ice Age....well before any appreciable carbon dioxide emissions from the Industrial Revolution. The $64 question is "How much of this warming is natural vs. anthropogenic?".
This is what they can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Also, data tampering also doesn't help their case.

I see you don't understand isotopic ratios. The evidence is right there buba.

Lol. Dummy got duped again.

https://www.factcheck.org/2017/02/no-data-manipulation-at-noaa/

Bates told the AP on Feb. 6 that there was “no data tampering, no data changing, nothing malicious” involved with his colleagues’ study. “It’s not trumped up data in any way shape or form,” he said.

I’m sure you’ll admit to being wrong any second now.

hahahha factcheck.org. You're kidding, right?

It’s a direct quote from the guy your article claims alleged data tampering you fucking idiot.

You got duped yet again, just admit it. You’re the world’s easiest mark.

Guess who owns factcheck.org? You must love getting manhandled by me.

You may want to look at these articles that disagrees with your theory.

Edit: This has nothing to do about now or anything man is doing. That's where, again very long term, space exploration is the only hope for man.

It’s a quote from an AP article which is directly linked. The source of the quote has nothing to do with factcheck.org. The person you used as your source for ‘data tampering’ straight out said ‘there was no data tampering’.

I find your continued puffery even while having your stupidity rubbed in your face to be hilarious. If you want to keep ‘manhandling’ me please go ahead. You’re just making yourself look stupider than you already do.

In case you haven’t noticed conservative media long ago realized how stupid you are, that’s why they run these articles. They know you’ll believe anything they tell you.
