He's the original owner, the car has 89k miles, a few paint chips, minor dings, and one power window that doesn't work. Mostly garage kept, no mods - all stock.

I don't need another sports car, and I was kind of planning to spend a few bucks to mod my '05, but it's hard to resist because the Stealth still looks good for it's age, and it's AWD, 300 HP and 307 ft-lbs of torque, Getrag 5-spd, leather interior...the downsides are the parts are expensive, and it's a pig at 3,800 lbs.

Road and Track '91 Review

Not of the actual car, but same model/trim/color:

Update I decided not to buy it - have too many other things to worry about and don't need to add one more. - Maybe if it was a Mk IV TT Supra, it would be different

No, unless you had intentions of reselling it for a profit (what market value on these things anyway?), I wouldn't bother.

If you cared enough about going that fast for cheap, you could probably get the same speed out of an LT1 F-Body for the same price. But you already have your Mustang, which is probably just as fast.

Wow, the Stealth RT Twin Turbo was one of my dream cars back in a day. :Q

I'd only get it if you're a fanatic, but boy, 1992 was a long time ago..

From what I have heard, Kenne Bell is a crap company. I've read of many issues and problems with the product reliablity, and I've also read that the support given by them is terrible. I personally have never used any of their products, but its just from what I remember reading about them.

I'm all for Forced Induction, but with those kinda of statements going around, I'd put my money elsewhere. Are there other kits available?

Since that car was essentially a 3000GT, have you noticed any oil burning coming from the car? Early 90's Mitsubishi's were notorious with having bad piston rings.

Overweight. And I wouldn't trust the electronics. Too many little computer doo-dads and gee-wiz junk on it. That's what I love about my '86 951, the only computer on it is for the FI, otherwise it's all either mechanical or the simple kind of electronics that I can easily trouble-shoot with a multi-meter.

HMMM???? I for one have no heard anything bad about the company.....?????

I am looking at getting one for my 331 Stroker build on my 5.0 Mustang and have did some research and I have only heard minor complaints and figured that was from people who were just hard to satisfy. For the majority I havent heard anything bad however. Where did you get your info?

Everyone on the Stangnet/Corral Forums seem to like them, the ones that have them at least, and the future buyers outlook on them are very good.

Nah...the larger CI you go on these motors, the less daily driveable they are...

Besides, the 347 is the limit of the 302 block, so I'd have to go 351W and bore it out. The 408 is popular though...

Bump with specs and some pics...I'm leaning on not getting it. It would make a really fun daily driver, but with the way gas prices are going and my job being in jeopardy in a few months...doesn't seem like the prudent thing to do

What type of driving you do, long distances? Stealth/3000gt was good at that, the heft really made it a smooth high speed runner. Not the best of cars for typical everyday drivers, too heavy, lack of space, and mediocre gas mileage. Not very fast off the line unless you really launch it hard (cop magnet).

Mostly short distance during the work week...highway driving during the weekends. I really could use a cheap 4-banger instead

Those cars were my dream cars before I got my license....
If it were me, I'd probably buy it to play with.

Do what I did. Get a 4 cyclinder honda. I get 40+mpg with it and it makes a great daily driver. I not have my '92 mustang stuffed into the building and have it all torn about rebuilding/restoring it.

Garbage. Heavy and unreliable. A poor attempt at a Skyline GT-R knockoff. Better performance can be had elsewhere.

I had a 92 that I owned from 60K miles to 100K miles. Mine was a fantastic car that never stranded me and I would still have it given different circumstances (moved to mountains without a garage). They make great cruisers for high-speed trips or daily drivers, and the AWD makes them good all-weather cars (within reason). These are not auto-x cars or road racers due to their weight and weight distribution, but they drive really well IMO. I would get it and keep it fairly stock if you already have a toy car. The real issue is to make sure the tranny and transfer case are ok. Is your buddy the type who thinks you launch an AWD car by side-stepping or dropping the clutch? If so, run. Also, check to see if he did the transfer case recall/check yet. Again, if your buddy is not anal about maintenance I would not buy it. Also, the back seats are strictly for show - my Talon actually had bigger back seats.
If you want to mod them high 13s are virtually free by hollowing out the pre-cats in the downtubes, adding a $35 manual boost controller and a free-air filter.
12s are achievable with bigger injectors, an SAFC to control them, and more boost.
For 11s or below you will need to replace the tiny hair dryers with something bigger, along with lots of supporting mods.

Check out www.3si.org for all the info you could ever want.

cliff notes - if well maintained, buy and use as cruiser or daily driver (assuming you like the way it drives and can wrench on it yourself).
